Vehicle Show and Tell

How does a man (me) make a re-enforced windshield?

You learn it with fabrication and mechanics (I think)

if I only I could find the recipe for the mini-fridge…[/quote]
Don’t have to make it. You can find Ice cream carts in parks. The kiddies might not let you take it though…

You probably need to find the recipe in a book. You need a lot of bulky items to make reinforced glass, so a vehicle with storage space is pretty much a necessity.
First get or make some superglue (easily made from bleach or blob globs), you’ll need 4 tubes per finished sheet you’re after.
Then find somewhere surrounded by a fence (FEMA camp, public works etc) and drive into the fence in your vehicle. Collect up the fallen wire and stash it in your vehicle - you’ll need a lot.
Now start removing windshields from abandoned cars. You’ll need 4 sheets of glass per reinforced sheet you want (so a 4-wide reinforced windshield requires 16 sheets of regular glass).
Now you’ve got all that start turning the sheets of glass into panes of reinforced glass, then join the panes together into reinforced sheets.
Install the reinforced sheets.

The other way to do it is to find an APC or HMHVV and steal its windscreen.

Wait, wait-- Quick question, are minifridges/cargospaces and some of the new crafting recipes in the current stable release?

Thanks!

Gonna be a lot of work to do…

So here I wanted to make the most boring car in the world, a simple 5x5 e-mobile. But then I found an APC and a Hummer… and you need a bull bar too… and so it goes

It’s all state of the art military plating, reinforced solar panels and windscreens, almost every square packed with 3 batteries (working on it), cargo carriers, kitchen behind the driver, yadda yadda yadda

Now this thing has 16 wheels and 3 large eletric motors, trying to find out if there’s any benefit to it. Those numbers below turn out almost the same with two engines and 4 wheels. The only thing that goes down is K dynamics, but does anyone know what it means?

You’ll always be the master mechanic in my opinion.

here is mine i call it zombie buster

Wait a second… I don’t think that’s a turtle at all…

I hope lots of people get that reference

Looks like a cow.

Stumbled across a crash site with some composite armor during an acid rain storm. 4 pieces down! Covering most (all) the exterior in green goodness and armored wheels on the bottom will be my stretch goal after getting the epitaph roadworthy…

(Isn’t Epitaph the name of a zombie apoclpyse MUD?) I’ve been working on creating one of those dune buggies from Mad Max. You know, the Raider dudes seem to drive em quite often. I’ll post a picture once its done.

Anyone care to show off some vehicles with optimal turret placement? I’m still not sure how to best use those. Not that I’ve found a single mountable weapon yet… I only have the normal non-vehicle turrets, which you bizarrely cannot use by welding them on.

Laser turrets on a vehicle would be amazing.

Rather depends on the laser, surely? One of the laser pistols is pathetic and does about as much damage as a nail gun.

But… yes, any turret that would run from the battery instead of requiring ammo would certainly be useful.

Well I was thinking it would use the place-able laser turret, somewhat weak but a bunch should be able to hold off any random zombies walking by.

I did not know that such a turret existed, I have to admit. So far I just have a tonne of standard SMG turrets. Which I’ve found basically zero use for.

Oh laser turrets can be amazing.
If it’s sunny they’re so good they’re broken. If it isn’t sunny they’re worthless though.

Hey what version are you guys playing on? I have no idea what some of this stuff is.
