Vehicle Additions Pack (Updated December 8)

“Mounted " = Manual fire only. Stand on the same tile with free hands and “f"ire.
” Turret” = Can set autofire via controls. Manual loading. Requires a turret chassis to be installed on the same tile.
"Automated " = Can set autofire via controls. Can only be loaded by the use of ammunition racks. Requires a turret chassis to be installed on the same tile.

Make sure you’re using the right turret type.

Manual fire only. Stand on the same tile with free hands and "f"ire.

Did the trick, thank you.

I knew it would be something obvious since no one else has had to ask that question.

error when creating fresh gen world with vehicle addition pack, and tanks and more vehicles pack. Not sure which is causing it

Looks like they changed the way engines work. Seems easy enough, I’ll fix it as soon as I get home.

Can confirm that the above issue is universal, just tried building a new world myself.

has the error been fixed?

It’s been fixed. I was hoping I could get around to making the blob stuff less key-intensive and rebalancing the canister/ballista ammo, but it’ll have to wait I suppose.

Thanks for your work. Btw would it be possible to add a vehicle mounted fermentation vat for your mod?

Vats actually ferment while you’re away, so all you need to do is put it somewhere you’ll return to, such as the refugee center or farm.

Do updates to the mod come down automatically with CDDA game launcher, or do I need to manually download them from the links posted on the OP?

Sad to say the newest line of experimental completely breaks the mod if using the update you posted blaze. looks like I’m rolling back for the time being.

Also, is anyone else experiencing blob feed fermentors producing no feed?

Just tested it and it worked fine. I reuploaded the file, as maybe I uploaded an older one just in case.

I feel silly now. The problem was I had parts that were still included in the mod that ships with cata, rather than the revised ones now included in your updated mod. Sorry bout’ that!

I am getting some error messages with the latest experimental and the mod (I am using the version from the link in the first post) every time I load my save.

First I get “item id bfeedcharge is unknown”, and then I get a few of “ammo type bfeedcharge has invalid default ammo bfeedcharge”

I was getting that too. I think that’s because blob feed no longer comes by way of fermentor, like it used to.

You have to delete the old folder before adding the mod.

Will it work for a game in progress?

If you had any of the old parts, you’ll get a bunch of error messages as soon as you load a save. Spacebar through those and you’ll lose the items, though the rest should work fine.

Feel free to debug replacements if you want.

All these diamond parts makes me think of running a stylish survivor again…

Okay, it’s not a very robust update, but wow did it take a lot of testing. Most of it was making blob parts less button intensive.

Vortex Generators now no longer take up engine space/power. It works like a reactor now, shove the core in and activate it via the controls. Right now they generate around 500 battery per hour, resulting in around 12,000 energy per day. The change does make them finite, but it’d take approximately 450 in-game years for that to happen.

Finally fixed that error plaguing blob turrets.

Gel Generators also work the same, creating 25 power per hour at the cost of 1 blob feed.

All blob growing cycles no longer need blob feed to grow, just time. However, you get less feed per craft. On the other hand, once you have your blob factories set up, they can just nom the corpses to make blob feed.

Some blobs can be split up (disassembled) and made to regrow, these are: Gelatinous/Oozing/Gray masses, Gel shooter, Gelacier, Gelectrode, and Biter.

Gelatinous/Oozing/Gray masses and the Amorphous Heart have some car-jack capability.

The blob was missing a long range option, so the Heart gets yet another ability. Engine, Controls, Seat, and long range artillery.

Removed the tooth growing mechanic, as it was mostly unnecessary considering how powerful blobs already are.
