Tips, Tricks, and Newb Questions!

[quote=“Rot, post:18041, topic:42”]Yup, It’s confirmed. I applied a diamond coating to my ‘Sword of Repellent Death’. Gave it approx. 14 extra cutting damage, which is nice considering that this is a decently large sword, estimated by the volume and moves per hit it’s on par with a longsword.

Hmm repellent death? So it repels death of does it cause death by repellent?

Repllent is meaning that the death inflicted upon something is diguisting and undesirable. It does not describe a protective action, but rather a gruesome attack.

First of is the loudness of a gun still based on the ammo’s damage times 0.8 +20 or is it something else now?
Also if a gun has its own loudness stat (like the five0 handgun) is that added to the ammunitions noise when fired or something else?

What are the requirements to craft exploding arrowheads for the explosive arrows? also is the Reflex recurve bow currently the best bow at the moment?

Skillwise the exploding arrowheads should require archery 5 and mechanics 3, if nothing has changed. It’s also one of the recipes you have to find in a magazine first I believe.
Yes, the Reflex recurve bow is the best bow in the main game - there might be better ones if you’re using mods though.

The effects it gave were (off the top of my head)
Passive good - invisibility, +3 intelligence
Passive bad - radiation, evil, mutagenic
Active bad - nausea, pain
Active “good” - summoned a firestorm all around you (on you as well)

Not to mention the good cutting and decent to-hit and moves per attack.

But yeah, holding it for invisibility was pretty bad, as radiation and mutagenic would make it not so viable. The active effect was bad too.

Okay, this bothered me enough to sign up and confirm:

I can’t do anything with a damaged tent, right?

Its info says that it’s repairable but it’s actually a different item from a regular tent, so “repairing” it just reinforces a damaged tent.
I can’t even cut it up for scrap!

Is this intended behaviour?

Are you talking about where you craft a new tent from a damaged one? If yes then that is how it has been working since at least .B

Is the noise produced by a firearm still based on the ammo damage times 0.8 + 20 or is it something else?
Also if a weapon has its own loudness stat does it add to noise or something else?

Ah yeah it could have been sunglasses if those shatter when smashing.

I’m not a 100% sure, but I think it just depends on the weapon types. Shotguns have the highest noise, while bows/pistols are on the low end.

I don’t think ammo has anything to do with it, but I could be wrong.

So the Sensory Dulling CBM… it says it can cause delayed reaction time and drowsiness, I’m assuming that’s only while using the bionic, and maybe some time afterward, and not a permanent effect from just one use? Could someone help clear that up for me please?

Obviously only when the thing is used. It dulls your sense of pain, but it comes at a cost of dulling everything else. So when you deactivate it you should be able to get your speed back up, but I don’t think your drowsiness will return to normal.

Cool that pretty much what I figured, just wanted to be sure. My guy has so many bionics now it’s almost ridiculous  Imgur: The magic of the Internet

Strange, I have met the requirements even I have 5 in fabrication… maybe cooking is involved? also another quick question:

Do repairing items with the Soldering iron it uses your mechanics or electronics skill?

Alright, just got another little inconvenient:

Do minifridges only put (cold) to raw meat, fish and drinks? I tried with vegetables and other types of foods (most of them have a form of preservation) but they don’t get the cold label… and damn, they consume a hell of energy.

It only applies to food items that have the eaten cold tag inside that item’s json. But for general game purposes only put stuff that spoils and that it makes to eat or drink them cold in the fridge (examples such as aspic, soda, protein drinks and most booze I think).

So if you find the room, in the lab, with the couple secubots and scientists(this time dead and casings everywhere, except the bots) and the glass in the middle that had a laser gun, laser pistol, quantum solar panel, and electronics book. Is that the main loot room of the lab, and is it always found on the bottom most floor? What if it is found on the first floor and no stairs anywhere leading down, is it a 1 floor lab? I know stairs can be hidden under stuff sometimes, but I have auto notes on and have searched every single room in the lab, even trying to look out for hidden stairs(though sometimes it’s hard to see under bookshelves so it’s possible I missed a staircase down, but wouldn’t auto-notes label it?).

Yes. Yes. Yes.
