There was a big change to melee in the last year that made differences in skill less of an absolute barrier: starting survivors have more of a chance of hitting zombie dogs (and thus surviving the fight), but default zombies have more of a chance of hitting late-game characters.
since the throwing skill rises at a ludicrous rate you will always be more limited by fab, meaning you will unlock Iron jav before you unlock wooden jav.
This would be fine but the Iron jav’s recipe includes a wooden jav, so the crafting ladder here needs 3 fab.
Hasn’t been for a long time now - but it used to be, and the only way to know is to fall in one, so it’s understandable that one would not test it regularly!

Well that’s odd. I get the throwing requirement but you can craft may more complex things with fab 1 than a weighted/balanced stick.
Coming back to CDDA for the first time after a long while, using the latest experimental build.
Have there been changes with Perception stat? It used to give clear indications of its influence on ranged attacks, now it simply says that it is ‘also’ useful for spotting traps and objects of interest.
its not a prereq to grab 10per. minefields are advertised by 4 signposts
but otherwise not too many. if ranged pewpewet -> take per/Dex
per affects the relatively new dynamic natural night vision all chars start with. night vision is better, but natural humies will see according to the ambient light levels weather and moon. a higher per gives a bonus to this
That file with garbage name in saves/worldname/ that ends in .sav
If you have more than one, you need to check all of them to find the character to edit.
Then search for “morale”.
So i have made a caracter spawned in a school and got tons of GREAT books....now i sit on level 6 on fab, surv, elec and other skills like mecanics....the question is: "What do i do now?"
do i continue to read the rest of the books (trowing ,rifle ,marksmanship etc) in my base?
do i build a vehicle or repair one and then go to get quests?
do i loot more of the town nearby?
do i start killing zombies to get the fighting skills up?

The best course of action is to read all books, get a good weapon, stockpile a whole bunch of food and clean water, and train with said weapon.
Once you get dodging, melee and either piercing, cutting or bashing to 3, you should focus on repairing a vehicle and traveling wherever you want to go.
