Anyone have any pointers for vehicle turrets? Specifically the needler from blazemod?
Seems i have 3 options
1: Install the Needler
2: Install Manual Needler on Turret Chassis
3: Install Automatic Needler on Turret Chassis
Option 1 and 2 lets me fire the needler only manually, option 3 allows manual and automatic? why would i ever use option 2?
Now the needler is installed, i can load individual nails into i, but only 5 (the size of it’s burst) I can’t seem to find a way to increase clip size, or make it automatically reload.
And when i do go to reload it, it requires 2000 moves per nail, more than it takes to reload the ballista. Am i doing something wrong or are turrets currently broken?

i think turrets get a range boost when they are fired manually iirc
for the clip size i’m not really sure, check for ammo racks and try to put ammo on the same tile as the turret
As far as i can tell, ammo racks don’t exist? They dont show up in the wishing or crafting menus.
PS: now i’m messing around with the vehicle mounted weapons, anyone know what kind of background i can use for the mounted weapons/ bipods? standing in a broken windowframe does the trick, but standing on or near the table i was carrying didn’t, and i see no option for making a mound of dirt to use. Would love to make more creative use of all the mounted weaponry.

I just downloaded a recent experimental a few days ago and tried a prison break start. To my surprise, I got zombies spawning directly next to me, in plain sight. They simply puff into existence, which is not only immersion-breaking, but also completely broken in terms of difficulty. Seconds after I managed to sneak past the security bot, a Brute spawns in the tile right next to me, beats me up and attracts the bot again.
I definitely know that this wasn’t the case last time I played.

Nope, I just genned a new world, paying specific attention to enable WANDER spawns instead of DYNAMIC spawns and it still happens. But I just found a fungal bloom in my game, even though I have enabled the “No Fungal Monsters” mod, so perhaps something is fucky with my installation.
edit: And I just did a clean install of the latest version and this still happens…

Prisons are multi-level. I think it has something to do with zombies traversing z-levels where they shouldn’t be allowed to. Maybe related to the climbing mechanic. (can zombies climb? I don’t mean stairs, but climb like the player can)

I don’t have z-levels enable, which means that the issue still happens. The most often the problem I described happens when I sneak past the secubot at the entrance and enter the ‘visitation room’ (the only room inside the prison where there’s enough light to craft. It’s basically that room where inmates can meet their relatives, but are seperated from them by glass windows).
It’s like bam surprise brute!

Have you tried the ‘g’ menu, ‘you should use that’, it works much better than adding clothes with the armor menu of the NPC.
Also, never have a NPC with 0 transport capacity, or he might be unable to wear anything. You’ll need to edit the saved game…

How come? If you use the armor so(r)ting method the NPC can’t “object” to putting the thing on, you just put it on them and they have to wear it; while if you ask them to use it politely they might refuse because random NPC quirks.
Try the following:
1. Straight up ask him to use the item (option g?). I’m assuming you did this and he told you it’s too encumbering for him to wear.
2. Ask him to tra(d)e with you. Take all the stuff from his inventory so he has enough space to carry the splint, then let him (h)old on to it. Close the dialogue menu, see if he equips it by himself.
3. (e)xamine him, then choose the option to so(r)t his armor. Remove anything he wears on his arms by selecting the armor and pressing (u), THEN trade him/ask him to use the splint. See if he’s willing to use it now.
4. See if you can manually put the thing on him from the same layer menu. Press F1 to see all keybindings.
EDIT: Yeah, you can put the splint on manually! To put a piece of clothing from your inventory on through the layers menu press (e). Do that for your NPC.[/quote]

The last time this happened, it was that monsters were able to treat all tiles as stairs (going up or down as desired), but yeah, then having z-levels off SHOULD stop it…

Maybe trust level plays a part. My NPC used to trust me 2, and since several days ago he trusts me 5, the reason of change unknown. He became my companion after his quest was complete, so it wasn’t for my giving him antibiotic.
I have yet another NPC question. Can I talk a bandit into submission? I will level my speaking, otherwise will burn their cabin.
NPC’s gain trust if you keep them fed, uninjured, etc… basically if you treat them like a person instead of cannon fodder. Congratulations on actually taking care of your NPC instead of using them as a minesweeper, armourd aggro machine, interactive book, warning sculpture scalp-ture, disposable pack-mule, walking threadsinew glue and food container or any of the other 1001 better ways to use NPC’s than as an NPC.
