Thanks much for the answers on adding non-basic notes, I quite appreciate
They do, and they will also follow along as you read skill books if they have the minimum skill required.
Can NPCs recover from 0-HP body parts (same for PC I guess, so ??)
thanks!

Broken limbs can be healed over time using splints.
oh ok, so 0-HP limb is ‘broken’, always? I did not knew that.
How well do minifridges preserve food? Is there a way to increase it?
I don’t know the numbers but minifridge adds quite a lot to the food preservation time. I suspect that anything below 0C stays good indefinitely. I can’t be sure about the exact temp. So that’s basically winter and ice labs.
I wish there were more ways to preserve food. For actual long-term food hoarding. Preparing to take on a hell castle and citadel with a FOB sticked with everything - ammo, guns, explosives, even an artillery piece I made with two howitzers - except for food. Got some dried, canned, pickled, etc food but little for the 3 overmap distance.
ant eggs. if you arent too squeamish take ant eggs
I haven’t seen ant structures in-game yet. Also, there’s an error on world-loading that says there’s one too many mandatory overmap specials in the world. Related? I don’t know.
Sewers, is there actually anything in them or are they just tunnels beneath the zombies that are really slow to walk through because of all the sewage that I can’t use without leaving my loot cart behind?

Are you serious? I could practically use perma-food as a score mechanic.
Dehydrated or smoked meat from an ant-farm perma-source is the easiest, but swamps outside of winter time works well, too.
Triffids for dehydrated veggies, of course, though you can also use fungaloids for that, though not as efficient (the fluid sacs can be dehydrated as veggies, IIRC).
Level 3 cooking + level 3 construction (for the charcoal kiln and smoking rack) = infini-food
But for volume considerations, nothing beats cloutie dumpling. Seriously, it’s not close.
Well, they can have sources of meat (sewer snakes, rats, and seweranas), but otherwise… yeah, generally empty and slow.
Personally, I use them as a means to get deep into a city without getting fucked by hordes of dense zombie spawns.
Faulty immobiliser on a SUV, how do I bypass it? Smash the security?
Also… Still clueless how I can reload partially a vehicle battery if I have no tools, is it possible to use batteries from portable devices?

?
Yes. You can use “liquid” batteries to power up a dead battery enough to start the vehichle. Would recommend making sure it has a functioning alternator to power it up the rest of the way, or your just being wasteful.
Yes, some cars can’t start because of a faulty immobiliser, the text says the proper key is needed, but said key is probably lost in the apocalypse… Is there a way to bypass that?
As for liquid batteries, I mean batteries from errr flashlight … if not where can I find smth to load up the car’s battery?
Not true. You can’t charge car batteries with “liquid” flashlight batteries. Not anymore. That change came to pass weeks or months ago.

“Faulty immobiliser” sounds like a faulty engine, and faulty engines are repaired with the “mend” command in vehicle examination view. Such repairs need particular non-craftable spare parts, while some spare parts can be crafted. These engine parts are found in garages.
If it is indeed about the security system, then you can either remove it or smash it. Removal requires skills and smashing is unreliable as it’s likely going to destroy other parts in the same tile - parts which your skills might not be able to repair or replace even if you have spares. You could also remove the other parts and THEN try to smash the security system, but, like I said, check required skills first.
If your vehicle battery is empty, then you’re going to need some tools. Here are some common options:
- take a battery from another vehicle
- use jumper cables (with another vehicle)
- install solar panels and wait for the sun
I made this for a friend that’s interested in trying this game out, and thought I’d share:
edit I’ve updated it in response to comments below. You can find it here:

I really do not understand how people are able to play using YKU/HL/BJN as movement keys. Why not just use 789/UIO/JKL?
