Holy penisapples!
^^ this was relevant, as I was using the 64 bit version and I has needed the 32.
But it works! I used the downloaded linux version -that was already compiled- and with that and some troubleshooting I now have a brand-new version running.
the compiled bit was still returning 1 error, and after some attempts at it I stopped after that giant mess of ‘strance’. Id love to because I could then start trying to C++ edit the game up. But its that 1 error. I got astyle, I got this liblua, and lua, and I got a bunch of other stuff, like doxygen and cmake.
So… Ill give it a final try to compile it because Id probably prefer to but… this works. Its running in the terminal itself, it looks like.
pedit:
- Nope. The downloaded precomiled version didnt help. It suffered from the same problem as using wine. But I deleted the source and recompiled it and it works! Or at least has when I tested out the hell castle. Will add in my beta version and test. But I was ready to at least try clang. It took maybe 15 minutes to do the whole thing, I hope its faster for the updates. I did pick up ccache as a precaution.

Well, I am glad that you have figured it out and got it working. It can be really tricky sometimes. My experience is that recompiling does take a long time–as long as it took to compile it in the first place. It’s a thing that I set in motion when I am going to be doing something else, like taking a shower, cooking food, going to work out, etc.
When you go to a public works station, do you see shockers?
I ask because I didnt, and it was off. Its funny because I checked a few places, but now Im skeptical that they werent?
:? I just want to see what other people will see. If I cant tell how hard/unreasonable adding in maybeinvisible zombies to the prison start will be, or if Ive addressed the errors people are complaining about wrt spaawns on top of one another because the game isnt loading any of those…
