It doesn’t need to be in one container. If you have 40 flasks with 1 water each, it should work too.
Are C4s not supposed to demolish bunker walls? Because I dropped one just by the door and wall of military bunker and it didn’t even scratch it.
dynamite is best nonnuclear option.
C4s suck, unfortunately. They didn’t get rebalanced.
Not currently (unless it has changed in the last 2 months or so).
Actually, I would like there to be some kind of generic “can this stuff” type of recipe/process. Currently, there are several things you can find canned that you can also make… but you can’t can them.
“Red sauce” is probably the most obvious example, but any kind of generic “canning” process (either in jars or cans, if you have a can sealer) would be an improvement over the current system.

I would love to have canned mashed pumpkin, curry, beans, and all of that other stuff too.
What are reasonable settings for a newbie to play with if they have dynamic spawn? I keep getting too many zombies (3 per house or way more) even though I really havent even attacked one yet. Static seems less interesting in the long run so Ive decided to master dynamic straight away.

hi everyone!
can anybody tell me if i change “monster evolution scaling factor” (i have it turned off) to default 4.00 or higher, will it work in an already existing world?
Tip:
If you’re ever short on nails, just burn down a building you’ve already looted, or a useless building like a home improvement store or empty garage. Be sure you have a shovel, though.
The nails you can dig up from the wreckage will number well over a thousand, more than you’ll likely ever need.

No. The world’s save file takes a snapshot of the worldgen parameters used to create it. You can change the save parameters by editing the worldoptions.json file in your worlds save folder using a text editor.
Navigate to Cataclysm-DDA/save, then find the save file for the world you want to edit and open it using your text editor (As a safety measure, copy your worlds save file to a safe place before editing). When you open the save, search for MONSTER_UPGRADE_FACTOR; it is the value you want to change. After you finish your editing, save your progress using the save button (this is important if you are using Windows notepad, because using “save as” may corrupt your save.
And welcome to the forums rjohn! There is a coming and going thread in General Discussion if you want to make a detailed introduction.

Thanks seem to work, although in retrospect it seems I was probably unlucky before.
Next question is a more general one I guess…
How do get a working car? Must I build one from scratch? Seems all of them are broken pieces of crap. Seems part of the apocalypse is that all cars instantly broke down, even the parked ones.
Also is it normal to meet necromancer zombies and kevlar padded zombie dogs plus shockers in groups on day one? Seems harsh right now. Thought monster evolution was going to spawn them later.
If you find a garage with a car in it. Chances are that its operable.
Also cars parked outside of citys tend to be in good shape.
Also any car you find might be in good enough condition. Also most only need minor repairs like refuel-baterie(change refuel)-weels etc.

Broken Cyborg is far worse than Really Bad Day. RBD is hard for the first day, but Broken Cyborgs endure misery and adversity day after day for quite a long time. So, congratulations on your choice of trying out Broken Cyborg, I guess.[/quote]
What a great and helpful answer, thanks BeerBeer.
Broken Cybog is far more difficult than RBD. I played a lot of Cybogs which starts in a hospital (numbered #001 - #127). Some only stayed alive for two rooms. Most of them died after their boots where gone to the acid from zombies. It is hard, but you are surrounded with healing materials.
But the worst scenario I’ve ever played is the prison.
I would need some tips for that too.
Starting as a guard or something is easier but as a convinct I have no chance. You see one Brute - you die. With bad luck you start in a room with staircase and another room above. There is nothing to do with your shiv besides for waiting to the next rampage brute zombie…
If editing doesn’t appear to work, you may have edited the default or example values. The “min” and “max” values are there to show the acceptable range of numbers. The working value appears at the end of the MONSTER_SPAWN_FACTOR entry and looks like this: “value”:“4.00”. The number is the value you want to change.
So Ive found a whole mall filled with goodies and as far as I can tell no zombies. Took a stroll around the shops and it seems there is little to no food. Loads of books and clothes. I must admit Im a little lost what to do next. Any decent weapons or armor I could start out with crafting? Only decent weapon Ive found was a combat knife. Any good suggestions on what to craft/learn more?
easily accesible
quater staff if you did some bahing-neeeds fabricvation 2 and bashing 2
makeshift macauitl-need only superglue and some rocks-decent slicing and not conductive so you can take on shockers.suprrglue if not found can be made with cooking 2 i think and dandelions ,bleach or bones…
armor
needs some gathered leather rags and other materials but you can grind it failry easily-lvl 1 to 2 craft light gloves, lvl 2 to 3 balalaclavas/pantes,cargo shorts lvl 3 to 4 boonie hat, lvl 4 top 5 leather chaps which you will cut when made or sleeping bag
balaclavas are avaible on lv 2 tailor /1 survival gave 100 % coverage, stuff head also with any hats avaible and turban as head encumbrance is not important
hoodie is avaible on lv3 taillor combined it with 2 tshirts/2 tank tops and you will be decently protected, trenchcoat is also not bad chosice for ti have higher storage but less protectton
lv 4 tailor give you leather helmet and most importantly leather vest which have excelenmt protection for little encumbrance-you can also make it from leather jacket without skill
lvl 5 gives you acces to leather armor which is decent and nomad gear which have strong protection and insane storage and is waterproof

Oh, can broken cyborgs start in hospitals now? Interesting - they were lab only last time I updated (been a couple of months).
And, at least with 5x spawn, RBD is WAY WAY harder than broken cyborg. I quit playing broken cyborg because it was too easy.
