I think I’m cheesing it by using the CBM that converts hunger into power, lets me just eat scads of rotten food to get all the nutrients needed.
Decided to start a new game, with 18 points for character creation just to make it more fun. Spawned near a fungal spire. I think “either i am fucked, OR i become one with the legendary mycus”. Go to the spire - it has marloss berries. I eat one. I become a marloss carrier at the beginning of a game
So now… where do i get a marloss seed? What is a marloss flower?
I’ve recently decided to pick up CDDA for a while, and right now I’m sorta split on what to do. I found a functioning nuclear mini tank with a electric motor and electricity, but it’s quickly running out and I don’t have anything to recharge it. Any tips on how to preserve this thing? I also possess a bottle of mutagen, should I drink it or hold it off?
I should’ve clarified on the mutagen. What I meant was it better to drink it, or not at all? I saw that purifiers were random and could get rid of my good traits, and I don’t want to risk getting a bad mutation, especially when I am decked out in gear.
Minitank power drain:
Likely a damaged battery somewhere or do you leave the engine running at all times? Toggle the reactor off, too. The minitank runs on electricity, which in turn is created in the minireactors, which in turn run on plutonium, which in turn can be found in small quantities in labs.
Purifiers:
You’ve misunderstood. Purifiers can’t touch your starting traits. Purifiers are like reset drinks - they mutate you closer to your starting state but they cancel any gained mutations randomly though, good and bad ones. Mutagens in turn are always a gamble and they’re a complex subject. Also look up the Robust Genetics trait. Personally I dislike mutagens - too risky and random for my taste. One mutagen means very little though, and it’s pointless to get anxious over one dose of any mutagen. Mutagens exist to be consumed (orally; serums intravenously). They can’t be used in any other way, although some mutagens are a crafting component for a few other mutagens. You can also feed mutagens to companion NPCs, but they have to trust you enough.
There’s a wiki too:

For as often as I see this said my experiences haven’t matched up. With robust genetics and targeted mutagens (ie: plant mutagen, lupine mutagen, etc) I haven’t found them to be very random at all. Only random in the sense that they’ll give you something associated with that tree.
If you set out with a single threshold in mind and keep taking the stuff your post-thresh mutant will end up with more or less the same traits as everybody else. Drink a bunch of bovine mutagen and you’ll get bovine mutations. Drink a bunch of troglobite mutagen and you get those. Where robust genetics comes into play with this approach towards mutation is that you can potentially get all of the positive traits while avoiding a few negatives.
Where things really get random and !FUN! is if you’re just drinking mutagen and tainted t while injecting mutagenic serum willy-nilly without robust genetics.
How many parts can a tread (or generally a wheel) support? I have already installed 16 rubber and 12 steel treads into my MCV (which is really large, and by really large I mean figures like 10 x 40 tiles) and it was still “unbalanced” (which I guess is just a fancy name for “not enough” as they are actually installed perfectly symmetrically, divided into 4 regions distributed almost evenly throughout the hull). That leads to question 2: how will a unbalanced vehicle act? Will it just slide out of control randomly or something?
Is there any way to remove the sheets from windows without smashing/breaking them? It’d be nice for a new character to be able to get some rags without making that much noise.
'e’xamine closed window and choose “rip courtains” or something like that
Thanks, guess I should have thought to try that
my 4 tank threads support my vehicle well, if my memory is good your wheels draw a figure and if center of mass is in this figure vehicle have enought wheels
maybe something changed but my vehicle is still enought
Anyone else able to infinitely reload wooden needles/sewing kits from a car’s stash?
Yeah, I posted a bug report on github about that.
linky?
I found this
except this exploit there is other good way to make thread? disasembling rags take a lot of time
So?
And yes, long strings take 30 mintues to turn into 300 thread.
Craft short ropes from rags and disassemble those. It wastes a lot of rags, but they’re ultra cheap.

I can still use solar panels, right? Also does soldering count as mechanics? I'm trying to get that up so I can patch up my tank.

You could pull a battery off of another car and attach it for a few more miles, you can attach a battery to almost any vehicle part.
Also, if it has solar, just shut everything off and let the solar charge the batteries.
If no solar, find some.
Out of these weapons, which would be the “best” (under your terms)? I have a broadsword, battleaxe, and a katana. IK that damage isn’t everything, but the speed differences don’t seem to be very different.
