I’m in a spot of bother. Looting in cataclysm has became way harder than I remembered, and like someone else mentioned, gun stores really don’t have much anymore. After fighting endlessly for a day, my character retreated, in pain and wounded, to a bar on the outskirts of the city and slept. Ammo is running low, and I don’t have the things necessary to make it (some ingredients I have, but not many tools). Any tips on scavenging? It’s night right now, so I thought I could go out under the cover of darkness and scavenge.

Light a fire. Let it burn and attact zombies with its noise. Loot a store.

Or, just use a flashlight.
Instead of going around the city naked, stay inside and craft clothing and sleep to heal. melee is quiter and cheaper than ranged combat

How do turrets work using the vehicle additions pack?

1.Where can i find an unfilled chalice?
2.I just received my first mutations - High Night Vision and Web Walker. High Night Vision is apparently an ‘active’ mutation - does activating it drain something?
3.Can i purify the Web Walker? I don’t want to become a spider mutant since they apparently suck .-.

  1. Nope. It’s active so that you can turn it off if you want to see how would things look if you didn’t have it. It was useful in labs in some earlier builds.
  2. You can purify it, but you won’t become a spider if you don’t inject spider serum.

From what I know, you have to construct the turret first with the necessary parts, find a vehicle frame (obviously) and then construct a turret frame for that turret. Afterward you put all those components together, and you have your turret setup. Drop ammo on it to load it, and equip your fists (have to) and stand on the turret and press “f” to fire. Turrets with the word “mountable” mean they are manually operated, those without can be fire by themselves. To get automated turrets, you have to make this part (which I do not remember the name of).

Is there a limit to the number of NPC’s that can spawn in your game? Or do you just naturally see less of them as the game progresses? I have my NPC spawn rate cranked to 7.5, but autumn of year two and I haven’t seen one since spring or so

What causes stun? I’ve been fighting quite a bit and it seems my fists do more stun than my zweihander, i remember back in C the zweihander did amazing amounts of stun.

I’m asking for help… I’m doing he commune job that asks you to bring them two motors. What do they really want? I was hoping it was anything with ‘motor’ in its description but they were less than impressed with the two small electric motors that I crafted for them.

Can you dig down with a pickaxe/shovel to get around an obstacle on a current z-level?

Easiest way I found to get them was to disassemble police bots. What I did is intentionally set off some alarms by bashing windows at a gun store or bank (forget which), let the eyebot take my picture, and waited for the po po to show up. If you’re already a US marshal you’ll want to take your badge off to trigger the response.

Is there a way I can create a new character in free form, while also giving myself more options, like the ability to create post-threshold starting characters? I want to play a man-eating, psycho bear.

Not so much in character creation but once in game you can mold every aspect of your character to your liking with the debug menu

^^Yes.

Spiked armor causes damage on ramming that is higher than other armor types and stacks well with spikes that can be mounted in front of them.

Thusly, armor without ar quarterpanel will ‘suck’ in a monster it rams, and damage it. Then striking the quarterpanels behind it will damage them further. What material the vehicle tile in question is made of and what it actually is defines how deadly it can be

Are itemlists cumlutive or do the replace one another if a mod uses one that the core game does?

If they use the same item ID, then the last one loaded replaces the previous ones. Many mods do this quite intentionally.
