Slings.
Slings should be the go-to for cheap ranged attack.
Throwing the items by hand might actually grant you more range though.
Thanks. Sling has a range of 18, got me a lot closer to being able to even attempt to hit a bird. Might have to go after turkeys instead, crows seem to be too fast to keep up with
Throwing can pretty much reach artillery tier with the right CBMs and Mutations. Makes me wonder if you can actually ‘critically pulp’ zeds with javelins.

I think certain objects have a thrown range of 1 even if you’ve transcended human limitations. Sadly this seems to include manhole covers.
Is it possible to define a grenade that would be manhack mounted to use acid/fire?
So far the best method I can think of is to make it a gun that has 1 range and will explode in emp/explosions to kill the manhack in question.

Does anyone have any ideas for turrets on rolling fortresses? My idea is a to make a mini tank/half-track thing and make it super condensed, but strong nonetheless. Currently 2 choices are the avalanche launcher (super cheap ammo and easy to make, just hold down f and spray) and the rotary cannon, mostly out of how cool it sounds, but also because of the cheap ammo.
My bread and butter is the slingshot cannon. It’s basically a big rubber band that launches coffee can IEDs. Simple and startlingly effective. If you want turrets you don’t have to manual fire don’t underestimate the blob parts. The name escapes me at the moment but one such addition will basically let your vehicle make deadly reach attacks at nearby foes without pesky ammo considerations.
pulse lasers, they are weak but strong enought to kill even a zombear, they are good for idle firing and guarding your postion when you do something else (sleeping, cooking, repairing)
for more stronger weapon what use power try turbolaser cannon, far more cheaper (use more common blaster arm cbm instead of laser pistols and finger laser cbm)
both weapons are not too hard to craft or expensive (unless you want a lot of pulse lasers) and with solar panels you do not need to worry about ammo, when continously firing while large electric engine is working battery power last for long time and car batetries are realy common so after you hit 100% power it will stay near for long time
I’m definitely installing that one (the slingshot cannon). I see it as the poor man’s 120mm tank cannon, but with a lot more and a higher variety of ammo to use. I have always wanted to use the big bang canisters and what not, and now I can.

What’s the turret with the longest automatic range, that isn’t high-caliber? I’m looking for stuff that won’t underperform only because there’s 5 layers of armor between them and the outside world.
There are a few that are 18 (like the turbolaser cannon), then there’s the perforator at 30 and the slingshot cannon at 50. Everything else with range over 18 seems to be gunpowder powered.
In regards to farming, I’m trying to get a makeshift vehicle going that can make farming go much quicker. However, the only farming equipment I can find on the wiki (may be outdated, but I just started playing again and haven’t found a farming book yet) are seed drills and reapers. I know I can’t do much until I have the recipes for the farming equipment anyways, but is there a piece of equipment in the game now that tills the land as well? And if so, could I make one vehicle that tills, plants, and reaps? Or must I make a several separate vehicles?

Cocaine will improve your int and give you morale.
Pot and other ‘useless’ narcotics will also do this. Cocaine is not useless.
Vibrators will give you absurd amounts of morale.
Toast 'ems are basically a drug in how much morale they grant.
Nachos and cheese. pork rinds. hamburger helper
Drinking a sip of chardiney will also do.
Music is helpful too.
