…Hm. I didn’t remember that being a line in 8-bit Theatre.
Quoting it from OMH seems more fitting though.

Is it possible to construct a building window and add curtains to it?
I’ve got dynamic NPCs trying to gank my gear. Are they vulnerable to traps or would I be wasting my time there? Do turrets target them? I’m very live and let live, but when they start poking around my box of used lighters I want to murder them all.
If I put an electric and a gas motor on a vehicle, does it use either one or both? In terms of fuel/power consumption, is this as inefficient as it sounds?
They are vulnerable to traps, and building a window curtain is as easy as building a window to stage 3. You need a heavy stick, a string, and 2 sheets.
And yes, although you can hook up multiple engines/fuel sources with enough skill, its honestly not nessecary unless youre doing some really heavy lifting.

Invulnerable to traps (they avoid them, even invisible ones, but will take damage if forced into them), turrets target only the hostile ones.
It uses both.
It is moderately less efficient than using a single engine - you get 80% of the sum of powers, but 100% of the sum of consumption.
I appreciate the answers. I’ll find another way to deal with NPCs, perhaps using rope & pulley doors. Never seen one operate one of those before. Or murder. Lots and lots of indiscriminate murder.
Yeah, that’s the only recloseable way I know of to keep NPCs out.
They also don’t pick up items in vehicles, so that’s another way to save your stash.
Pits
Pits are relcosable, and while I dont think Ive ever tried to drive over them I think you could. At least with the planks on them.
It’ll damage your tires. How long does it take to fill in pits?
6 minutes.
You sure driving over planks damages tires?
What? I mean driving over pits. Can you stick planks across them now or something?
2x4s can be put over pits by (e)xamining them with a 2x4 in the inventory or nearby. and taken off by examining them again
Oh, well, forget I said anything. I didn’t know that. This is what happens when I leave for like two years.
How does one get the electronic handcuffs off? Silly riot control bot thought I needed them…
Nevermind, I finally noticed that they had charges and that I could wait it out.

emp, jump into water, bash some zombies until it stuck into it but you cant yank it free, wait until charge run out
Is it possible to remove a staircase somehow?
EDIT: Yes it is, build walls near it and build roof over it.
Via construction menu perhaps? What have you tried so far?

Sigh and I was near water the whole time too. Well next time I’ll know better.
On a different note - what in game effect do shaving/haircut kits have? I’m thinking it is a morale boost or maybe temporary scent reduction?
morale boost for a rather extended time period. Good for reading, take with booze.
Whereas good food is good for increasing morale to regenerate it after a period of wetness of intense focus. Like toastems are awesome, but dont last long enough
So what is the layering order for colothes? It starts with next to skin, then normal, then what? Stappeed?
A thing I learned a day or two ago that… I probably should have known for a long time but somehow I never figured out how it worked for the longest time, so it might be a good newbie tip!
You can, in fact, interfact with the curtains on windows! If you’ve claimed a house as yours and you want to reduce the risk that a zombie might catch you snoozing, you can 'c’lose an already closed window to draw the curtains shut. Likewise, if you’ve been peeking out of the house and everything looks safe where you are, you can 'o’pen it once to open the curtains, and then again if you wanna actually open the window for the purposes of climbing out.
