Did the amount of XP granted for actions increase? because I swear I just leveled up my tailoring on one pair of cargo shorts. Which is weird to me.
And Im a slow learner. I actually double-checked to make sure I was, it went up so fast.

With the new system of being able to craft til X and with how you often damage your gear repeatedly while working on it, you can easily level up while doing one piece at low levels. This one I don’t mind since I can’t sew and most people can’t sew without investing some time into it. The one that does drive me crazy is driving since driving isn’t very difficult and when my survivor is driving along at 10 miles an hour and suddenly does a 90 degree turn into a house it’s a bit silly.
Lol hence why i use debug on every game to put driving at 20 skill.
How do you scroll the item description frame on the pick up menu? Nothing obvious is working.
pgup and pgdn
Oh wow, so that’s how you do it! Been wondering about this for the longest time ever.
Id still love to see an update to make it so us poor laptop users could edit those controls to be something else. I want to read ALL the descriptions too…
Have you tried using the Function key to hit the page-up/down button? Most laptops have 'em along with another character
GASP I never realized anyone made a fn arrow key binding possible! Yay for progress I never knew existed. Was a stupid thing to not allow anyways. Maybe its just a mac thing? Whatever I have pg up pg down now ^>^ happy punk is happy. Now if only I could combine mac and PC with magic powers of the void and make a computer with no downsides…
From where you get power armor?
I’ve seen power armors
Don’t get too excited about finding a power armor though. With them you’ll also need
I believe you can also craft a functioning power armor from a broken power armor, which are sometimes left behind by a rare zombie. I think they were called ‘armored zombie’. Their symbol is black upper case Z on a red background. Basically it’s a (normal?) zombie wearing a power armor. I’ve met a few times these guys down in a lab. Very tank-y. Armor piercing rounds recommended.
Zombie soldiers also drop powered armor, though they’re in varying levels of damage. They also do spawn in bank vaults… but the helmets are often far rarer. Pray RNG to be kind and let them spawn in spider basements, or rat king caves.
There’s also one special type of power armored called the RM13 combat armor. No need to find a helmet for this one, as the armor offers full body coverage. Its bash and cut defense isn’t as great as power armor, but unlike them you can wear clothes over it. It also runs on plutonium cells. You can find plutonium cells easily enough by disassembling power storage CBMs.
How do you quickly harvest steel from car wrecks and pile-ups or at least get rid of them? Removing parts directly seemed to be too inefficient. My current technique is to smash them with a sledgehammer, but it drained up stamina so fast that I needed to take breaks every time after I remove a few tiles.
Something something sonic resonance CBM. Also, grenades/other explosives are good. Electromagnet CBM is pretty useful for getting everything onto one tile, but you could easily just shovel everything up with a vehicle scoop.
If you remove a seat under a broken seatbelt, you get the whole seatbelt and not just some strings.

Soldier zombies and biooperators drop power armor upon occasion, so it’s really not THAT rare - on my last survivor, I found 3 heavy suits, a light suit, and 12+ regular suits (so many that I didn’t even bother to collect them anymore). All of that, and I only found 1 light helmet and 3 regular helmets (and 2 of those came from the same place, along with crazy rare other stuff - that was an amazing find) - also, I found 3 hauling frames.
So helmets and frames are what’s rare. Power armor, not so much.
Also, always check spider basements - they can have essentially anything in them. Those 2 power armor helmets I was talking about up there? I found them in the same spider basement, along with a portal generator, the rarest mutagen book (elf-a), some hydrogen, a fusion pack, a sniper conversion kit (only time I’ve EVER seen that) and some other rare stuff. It was CRAZY.
Depends. If it’s a wreck with every part in grey condition, then use force (explosives, smashing, etc.). The immediate surroundings will turn into a lake of junk metal. You can then clean the area by setting the various junk items to auto-pickup. Also have “autopick up nearby items” enabled. Dump the stuff wherever.
If you have a wreck with some parts in yellow or even green condition, then I’d suggest uninstalling those parts first, until only grey condition parts remain. That is simply because those green parts have the highest HP, and they WILL take longer to break.
And don’t use the sledgehammer. It’s super heavy and it WILL drain your stamina. Experiment with lighter bashing items/tools/weapons. A lump or a chunk of steel should be fine, too.
A fusion rifle, or a fusion rifle turret (with the vehicle additions mod pack) might speed up things, too. Any turret might actually help.
Clearing wrecks is slow even under the best of circumstances, so don’t expect it to be quick and easy… unless you have a ton of explosives to spare.
Bionic solution: sonic resonator. It’ll smash up stuff like vehicles in a 9x9 tile centered around your survivor.
Get a car.
add some extra frames to it on the front.
put spikes on it.
drive it into things at high speed.
repair and repeat.
You could use your main vehecile but there are small chances to damage valuable parts. I do and no real complaints
i also recommend lower speed collisions to move parked cars
What’s the current land speed record? I’ve found what looks like a hundred tiles of straight road and a shitload of v12s. Let’s do this.
EDIT: Is a large or enhanced electric motor better?
The enhanced motor is better. Has a little mor power but is much, much lighter
