Odd. I could’ve sworn…weird. That explains it.
Sorry. ._.

Spider basements maybe. Basically pray to the gods. People think they spawn occasionally in labs, but I looked at the item lists a couple months ago and they don’t. Personally I just changed the lists and gave them a small chance of appearing in a few places.[/quote]
They DID spawn in labs at one point - I used to find them there. Might be as fat back as 0.C, though - it’s been a long while. It’s actually quite annoying that they don’t (that’s the most reasonable place for them).
How do I make a vehicle interior dark enough to continue sleep in? The light from he morning keeps making me wake up even though all the windows and doors are closed, I can’t see outside.
I’m using a shutter door, an interior door, and an isle curtain with window

Is there a roof over you? ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
lol yes, i checked multiple times its over everything
Light inside vehicles seems to be bugged right now, I get around it by crafting a blindfold and putting it on before I go to sleep.
E: I guess it might be intentional, some sheets over the window prevents anyone from seeing anything useful through it, but it would still be pretty bright if it was just a thin white sheet.
Sheet material doesn’t seem to differ in building windows, and those block out all light. I think a fix is in order
I haven’t checked recently, but I think even a fully enclosed vehicle compartment will be to bright to sleep in. Sheets aren’t the issue, it’s deeper than that…or higher, maybe roofs are bugged.
Why is my dog biting me… was it the fire i lit around it, its happened since then… do i need to feed it again? I want my puppy in the apocalypse.
So I finally set up base safely in a cabin 10 map tiles outside of the suburbs and it has been perfect because I play with wander spawns on. However, I found a glimmering portal 2 map tiles away from the cabin… Is it moving time?
Go spend the day in a car nearby and tell us
I found this portal a few days after living in the cabin and I have yet to see anything strange besides a corpse and rubble lying by the portal
Yup. Maybe one day, but not today, they wll spawn critters. Though I was sure they initially have critters around them . . .

Alternatively, in the latest experimental, there’s now Eye Dampeners as a passive bionic, for the eye protection CBM. If you’re having trouble sleeping, you can literally shut off your eyes.
I manage to dark my vehicle totally with curtains (sheets) and oc, roofing all except the walls that that is not necessary and only applies more weight to the vehicle. If you can´t dark the vehicle, maybe you missed a spot. Or maybe you are using stable version than “maybe” is bugged.
Ive been testing and roofs on the walls of a vehicle arn’t a complete waste they do soak some of the damage that would normally go to the other bits. So it can make the vehicle last longer, but yea downsides include longer repair times, more weight, and more parts needed.
I still not tested to use it for ramming walls, so I dunno how important is adding more a more plating / reinforcing. Also dunno what is better, parts with hi hitpoints (rams), or parts with more damage % (spikes 300% damage).
Walls take unmodified damage. So more hp.
Mmmm very nice to know.
what about trees and shrubs? HP again? I would assume so since they get destroyed either way… Wait… Do vehichle parts not have any kind of armor rating system that negates/knocks down amount of damage done? I can’t think of anything I might have seen that indicates that there is.
