Tips, Tricks, and Newb Questions!

I’ve found an electric car with swapable battery case, swapable batery, a large electric motor and some solar panels. Is it enough for the batery to charge or do I need some additional components?

Also, how can i install my vehicle welding rig?

you need battery to charge battery

Junk food is often, but not always, unhealthy. Don’t eat candy sticks and such small stuff, as they’re not filling but can be unhealthy, and their unhealthiness can add up quickly if you fill your belly with them.
Mutagens, alcohol and drugs are unhealthy.
Did you start out as a broken cyborg? Have all your malfunctioning bionics removed.
Pine needle tea is healthy. So are most raw fruits and vegetables. Fill a steel jerrycan with pine needle tea.
Take vitamins 1-2 times a day.
Wear something over your mouth at all times, preferrably with environmental protection of 3 or more.

Probably not, but it may have changed from a few months ago. It is possible to alter the spawnrate by editing the game files. After editing you might still have to kill the slimes from existing pits to see the effects.

Depends on the condition of the parts. A damaged battery loses charge slowly, or fast even. Damaged solar panels charge slower. Even if in full condition, you wouldn’t be able to drive the car non-stop with default parts. You would have to let it charge quite often, or switch full batteries to it.

The welding rig goes on an empty frame or heavy frame. An armor plating and a roof can exist on the same tile but not much else.

I put everygame a filter mask never got flu any single time. Sadly gas masks are cumbersome.

And yeah, if you wear a gas mask, the healthiness stat (I prefer saying that instead of health, to avoid confusion with HP) is less important, but it also affects how much you heal overnight by resting. This can be solved by endless abuse of healing supplies, or mitigated by the Fast Healer trait, but it still can screw you over.

Just take a vitamin once or twice a day, and your healthiness will start improving a good bit within a week, and keep trending upwards unless you abuse copious drugs.

Abuse

The scope of my own voluntary drug use is

Booze
Cocain
Codeine
Asprin
Tramadol

So enh. Maybe caffeine? I use that a lot and there’s a withdrawl penalty from it.

If you haven’t had copious hallucinations, shakes, and (if I recall) a hefty healthiness penalty, you haven’t been drinking enough booze.

I want to make my way to a lab, but i need to gain entry.
I saw that the hacking tool required to open the lock is level 4 electronics, and I’ve only found lvl 3 books so far.

Should I scavenge for more books or for parts of a jackhammer (which require a small engine that I can’t seem to craft so far)? I could also try grinding my way to there, but i don’t know how well it will works.

Science ID cards carry the less risk, as opening the science lab doors with an electrohack won’t remove the hostile turret stationed in the entrance.

Ram into it with a car.

Put a ‘ram’ on the fron tof your car with extra frames if you have the means.

Use a spare car if you have one nearby. The turret will be right in the front, but if you can ram into the back you could beable to avoid having to deal with it.

Smoke grenades and a shotgun are likely to be your best bet for killing it at a low level.

Or start a fire inside.

  • Are you aware that there are Science ID cards? It’s a simple item. They open lab doors. These are found on zombie scientist corpses anywhere outside the lab, although bit rare.
  • You could also ram a car through the wall. Not the door though because then you’ll be greeted by the turret. Install a ram on the car. They are installed on the empty tiles just outside the vehicle. A ram isn’t necessary but it’ll just mostly prevent the rest of the car from taking damage from the impact.
  • Or use explosives. C4, dynamite, etc.
  • Acetylene torch can cut down metal doors.
  • Not sure if digging into a lab is an option? You would have to be on top of the lab 2nd floor. And you might still need the jackhammer.

^^^^

When in doubt, C4.

Or all explosives, really.

I find a lot those ID cards, in mangled corpses and no science lab in sight. They are too common in my games.

Btw I grinding now with vehicles, but how I can drain a battery from other car to add to mi own? I find a heavy duty cable and a jumper cable, I connect both vehicles but where is the option to activate the drain?

If the vehicle you want to drain is outputting more power (solars, engine running, etc) then it’ll transfer power to the connected vehicle, but apparently you can’t drain the power that’s stored.

Given you can install regular car/truck/bike batteries anywhere, an alternative would be to rip it out and install in on your deathmobile of choice. X3

1)How do I kill NPCs on the IOS version of Cataclysm? NPCs seem to be freakishly overpowered, being able to tank hits from Amigara Horrors(messing around with the debug showed that), direct hits from a LAW, and (friendly)zombie Hulks spawned via the Debug Menu. The same NPCs also batter everything to death with their bare hands(or a crappy melee weapon). Most of the NPCs I run into aren’t even wearing armor.

2)How do I stop feinting and actually attack?

3)Is there any way to press “TAB” on the IOS version, also?

Ive been doing this. And i mostly stay away from junk food, though when i cook up some lard i do go to town on some hot cracklins. My main food source at the moment is what ever uses up my perishables and gives me the best nutrition so im eating relatively healthy, its weird though i got up to 23-24 healthiness and then it starts dropping. Im still well positive but i dont know what drops it. Does working through the day ignoring hunger/thrist until the end of the day affect it, minus a bit of breakfast of course.

Hmm. I’m not sure here, but…whichever way you’re using to view your health, is it the health_mod or actual health? ONE is the layer that food and drugs normally affect, and it filters into the second layer (which seems to be the stat used for sickness/healing) over time. I can’t recall if the hard-coded vitamin effect bypasses this and beefs up the second layer of healthiness or not.

I took self aware trait, and every morning it tells me my healthiness when i wake up. some thing like.

Your current health is: #
then the descriptive text about how you get out of bed.

Ah right, as I figured. I really should mess with that trait again. o3o

Tank drones make me sad… Another character bites the dust.
