Yeaaah no nothing short of power armor will make this work. Seriously. Very much so. Do not try at home. Def not speaking from experience, why do you ask?[/quote]
You talking versus 9mm turrets or 5.56mm turrets?
I’ve yet to test reinforced, kevlar-padded plate armor against 9mm turrets at point blank range though, so… >w>

Milspec turrets, I mean. Not sure what they fire but it hurts.
Antimaterial turrets hurt more… RIP medical mutant in light power armor, you never had a chance.
Edit: BTW, never approach a turret after short-circuiting it with a control laptop, EVEN if it shows up as friendly. They are just waiting to backstab you.
Depends on how much lighter it is. Look at the listed number of moves per attack. Assuming incidental qualities skew things, you have to decide which has the high damage-per-turn, then further decide if the raw damage of a heavier weapon is worth it.
Are military ID cards super rare or something? I’ve already rummaged through 4-5 crash sites and killed a couple of soldier zombies, and still got nothing. Should I just go for the offensive blow-the-shit-out-of-the-front-door approach instead? I found a ton of explosives in some crate, I could use anything from C4 charges up to mininukes without any problem.
With that said, how do I build EMP grenades? That’s the only explosive I can find a good, constant use for, yet I have no idea how to craft it.

Volume and weight can also play a role, I suppose. A katana has 8 volume while a combat knife has 2. A survivor with low-encumbrance, low-volume gear might have some problems having a katana in the inventory if they have to carry a number of things around. Certain martial arts can make low-volume weapons more viable; like a punch dagger with boxing, for example. Ninjutsu with a number of smaller weapons can still be as lethal as a katana with ninjutsu, though with less chance of zombies exploding to gore.

If you’re going with the blow the doors down method, take care not to be anywhere near the doors; there’s several milspecs waiting if you’re opening the door without a military ID card. Had that happen once, used a torch to cut open the doors back when you could do that on most doors; survivor had no chance.
Military ID cards can be found in decent amounts in military outposts, usually around the human corpses. Explosions can destroy items, so there’s a slight chance of some of them being destroyed by a grenadier.
