Can you modify pre-worldgen options and apply them after the world was already created?
I want to activate NPCs, modify the season length, spawn rates and activate certain mods on a world that was already created and partially explored. Is this possible? Can you apply the options and have them all take effect after loading the game from the last save point?
Depends, on the options, if it says it need sot reset the world after activating then no, otherwise then yes. Things like mods and seasons, names, ect. require messing with the save file.
Basically defines how often it picks that specific mapgen, relative to all other mapgen entries with the same indentifier.
Say you have only two mapgens, both titled “house” for example. The first one has a weight of 6, the second has a weight of 1. Any time the game decides to place a “house” it’ll pick the first 6 out of 7 times, the second 1 out of 7 times. More entries with higher or lower weights skew things accordingly.
If you get your hands on some atomic lamps…that’s about your only option. Drop atomic lights everywhere, install them tastefully on vehicle frames…or if you’re using Vehicle Additions Pack, install mundane vehicle lights powered by a vortex generator.[/quote]

Produces the requisite fuel, a vortex core, as a by-product.

And it’s also a part of the Vehicle Pack mod; not everybody plays with mods, mate. You should probably mention that so people don’t get confused.
Or perhaps, y’know, not mention stuff that is part of a mod at all unless the OP specifically asked about it.
Id still opt for a liquid fuel charger that runs on whichever gas/diesel I didnt use for the car and also install extra battary cases in that vehicle to swap around. no vehicle mod here
Anyone have tips for dealing with hordes? I know their implementation is somewhat broken as is, but is there any effective way of at least cutting them down to size / preventing spawns in certain areas? Pits en masse seem to be a little ineffectual for my liking, and their spawning inside buildings isn’t very good either.
Does sitting on a chair/sofa/bed or being near a table affect crafting/reading time or focus gain/loss?
Or is the sole purpose of chairs and tables to add a “home”-ish feeling to houses and serve as a decent source for wood and nails? Surely reading sitting on a chair is nicer than standing, but maybe this wasn’t implemented yet.
Not sure of the full criteria for triggering it, but you can get a “got comfortable” +5 moral bonus for sitting still in comfortable places like couches or beds. Not much, but still, setting up an armchair with a snuggie and a pillow or two in your reading room isn’t a bad idea.
Let’s see…

This doubles as commentary and a tip for new players: I personally consider several of the major packed in mods to be basically a part of the game that you have the option of disabling if you’re looking for a suicidal challenge run. These are ones I never even consider not using unless I’m just doing a just-for-lolz, “how long can I not die” character:
[ul][] More Survival Tools: Lots of basic survival-training-101 and common sense stuff, like being able to set up a tarp to catch rain and craft a flint and steel kit.
[] Vehicle Additions Pack: Vital part of the game as far as I’m concerned. Makes vehicles more than a way to get scrap metal and power a kitchen, and vehicle turrets more than a way to waste half your ammo stockpile killing a single coyote.
[] Folding parts pack: also vital unless you enjoy the tedium of having to disassemble small carts that should logically fit in the trunk of a car, let alone a stairwell.
[] Icecoon’s Weapons Pack and the Craftable Gun Pack: I’m told you can use firearms as more than a novelty without these two mods. I remain dubious.[/ul]
They’re not really common in vehicles, I think. They can be found on soldering irons if you disassemble them, and you can also deconstruct computer consoles for a couple of them.
