That part I know, the minimap is removed, but the message log on the sidebar remains small, which is what we’re having issues with.
Any sort of smoke will mask your scent, doesn’t matter what kind.
I’m being shot at by what may or may not be a dead yugg. Unless yuggs can shoot farther than I can see in the midday anyway.
There is a dead yugg corpse on a tear in space tile that also has a fungal bush that makes the fruit things, and could it be that that is shooting me?
here is a noob question, how do i switch between mod lists? When i am assigning mods while creating a world i can see there are two sublists for mods, one is called blacklist and the other is something else. How do i switch to the other sublists? The arrow keys switch to the current modslist, and the > buttons swap to the other menus for world creation
TAB will do the trick
How do storage batteries work? can they be charged by an alternator? doe they need to be on the same tile as a solar panel to charge? do chargers charge the nearest battery first or all equally?
An rv has a battery by a minifridge. is that battery charging when I turn on the engine?
I think maybe I’m using my makeshift funnels wrong…I activate them to place them, and then drop an empty container on the same tile, right?
Yes, but they also fill slower than a normal funnel or constructed tarp raincatcher.
Damn. I mean if it’s gonna rain all the damn time I guess I’ll just craft like 79 makeshift funnels so that poor Jef doesn’t have to take his pansy ass outside. You should be able to craft a giant climate controlled bubble dome that could span the length of a town
And that is why just filling a steel jerrycan or a metal tank from a river is a real help sometimes. o3o
Ah. I like it. Wish I had thought of setting up my base…IN A VAN DOWN BY THE RIVER!

Storage batteries work just like car truck and motorbike batteries. If batteries are installed in a vehicle anywhere at all, they’ll get charged by the alternator as long as the alternator is installed on the same tile as an engine which is running.
Solar panel location doesn’t matter. As far as I’m aware basically it’s just alternators that need to be on the same space as the engine. Pretty much everything else you can place where you like.
I’m not sure how the game handles which battery charges in what order. I had some trouble with that myself.
brilliant thank you. Time for a wilderness survival ranger!
What’s an efficient way to kill hulk without a deathmobile?
I just died trying to kill one and I can’t be bothered to create a new character because I put tons of time and effort into this guy, and even though the world isn’t as Fun as it could be and is a bit outdated I decided I’m going to savescum anyway.
I didn’t realize how fast they close the gap on you, so as soon as it smashed me through a pile of rubble everything started to go downhill. I managed to put 9-10 RM13 shots into it before dying, damaging it “heavily” (shotguns 0, piercing weapon 0, marksmanship 5). Using arrows is out of the question. I didn’t have much luck with grenades on regular zombies, so I won’t try that either. Molotovs perhaps? A mininuke?
I usually can kill them with point blank shotgun blasts, or by hitting them with a tazer and then stabbing them repeatedly while they’re stunned, or by suiting up in power armor with a kevlar and leather reinforced helmet.
Has anyone ever made a custom built map using the debug tools? With how easy it is to basically scult the map exactly how I want, even down to spawns and items, I’ve already stripped an overworld map of all structures and fungal/ant nests. There’s already a nice large river flowing through, I can widen and extend that into a large lake with an island in the middle. Big giant highway running up the map. Science labs on the surface, as a large complex with parking, gates, security etc. So many fun ideas.
Ive never done it but i would be interested in seeing what u do
Sadly we don’t have manual versions yet, so it needs controls and power to work. ;w;
And yeah, initial construction always defaults to the H frame. That’s a fundamental thing regardless of whether you use Chesthole or even whether you use tiles at all. >____>
Ok I have found a seed drill but I can’t install it in my vehicle (nothing special, just a trike in wooden frames and a 1 cylinder engine, a saddle, controls and banded wooden cart wheels). I can install a plow in empty slots (not found one yet, though) but in the installable things list doesn’t shows seed drill.

To take hulks out with a skilled melee fighter, channel Bruce Lee and let the hulk come to you.
(Skilled melee fighter here meaning “preferably level 4+ in melee and unarmed/weapon type of your choice”)
Hulks move fast, but their attacks are slow; that devastating slam attack especially. Running away makes you use up your turn, but if you hold your ground using 5 or space until the hulk steps into a neighboring tile, you get a brief window where you can attack before they get the chance. Combine that with a style that has knockback, counterstrike, strong blocks, and/or parry attacks, and train up dodge a little, and hulks become a lot less scary. (They can still ruin your day, don’t get me wrong, but they aren’t instant death.) Same tactic works against brutes and tough zombies, too, when your character is at low level and needs to worry about them.
If I’m in a situation where I can spare the time- say, the hulk is charging through rubble or across a field in daylight- I’ll pull out a fast, quiet ranged weapon like a crossbow or throwing knives and get in a potshot or two in while the hulk is closing the distance. (heck, I’ll even throw random stuff from my inventory like rocks, nails, radios, steak knives, cell phones…anything the least bit sharp or heavy is potentially a point or two of damage) As the hulk crosses the 3-4 tile away threshold, I then swap over to fists or a light fast weapon appropriate for the character, and start waiting for my window to strike. (If you can’t stow the ranged weapon fast, just drop it- you can pick it back up later. Or make a new one. You’ve got a hulk to deal with right now, and ranged weapons are more expendable than your limbs.) If you neglect ranged combat as much as I do, the whole process rarely does more than graze them, but every once in a while you get a lucky shot that makes the difference between a one-punch-kill and getting slammed through a wall. And hey: any chance you get for target practice…
I’ve had great success using this tactic with dragon style, scorpion style, tiger style, taekwando, karate, and escrima, and I imagine it’d work beautifully with Toad Style, Drunken Boxing and Capoeira as well.
I spawned in a area with no bookstore or library, no mansions in sight neither. Anyone know any other places to good some high tier books?
