Tips, Tricks, and Newb Questions!

Repair kits and/or resinous cord, ja. It’s for items made out of it though, you can’t add it to other gear. ;w;

Oh, I thought you could use the tailoring kit to add stuff like that :frowning:

Is a survivor winter suit a good choice for winter? I’m currently in that season, and need warmer clothing.

A very good choice, if a bit expensive. I used to use them for ice labs too.

In my last playthrough i found that using a tailor’s kit to add wool/fur to a union suit is just as good for less encumbrance. But “Survivor” grade gear has good protection too.

So I keep trying to wield my Reflex Recurve bow, but whenever I do the game tells me that I can’t wield it with only one arm. I don’t have a broken bone to my knowledge, so why is it telling me this?

Fusion blaster arm maybe? Other than that and a broken arm I dunno.

Ah, that’s probably it, I had installed the blaster arm with my bow still in my arms I guess, so once I dropped it I couldn’t pick it back up.

I wish the blaster arm had a toggle or something, to go from BFG mode to star wars blaster mode. It’s so powerful it can’t be used on anything that’s nearby or anything you want to have stay intact. It’s a bit too indiscriminate for me to want to give up an arm for it.

I still stand by the greatest possible character: Monomolecular Blade + Fusion Blaster Arm + Ethanol Burner + Absurd Amounts of Alcohol + Drunken Master. There’s absolutely nothing that can go wrong–the more you drink, the more you can shoot, the better you can chop, and you can’t stop chopping without drinking, either.

Combine with dorf mutagen for maximum Fun.

I need a portable light for inside my base. What’s a good vehicle setup for it? Also, what is the best light to use (floodlight, headlight, etc.)?

Atomic lamp!

But a car with solars will power whatever lamp you want.

It depends on how much you want to light up. If you just want enough for crafting use aisle lights. If you want to light a large room fully, use a floodlight.

To power it, what I did was find a solar powered car, swipe one of the two batteries and it’s case, and use that to power my lamp. I swap back and forth every few days to keep the batteries charged.

I hate the blaster arm CBM so much. It’s like a trap designed to trick newbies into cutting their arms off. Just hold onto it until you can craft it into a fusion blaster rifle. It’s just as good for blowing shit up but you can still scratch your ass and pick your nose at the same time.

It’s definitely not a precision weapon, but when it’s time to just say “fuck it” and blow up all the things it’s a godsend. Plus it’s great for vaporizing zombie corpses.

Did they remove the storage from helmet netting? I spent a day cutting up rags to make a pair of them, and now they seem to be useless.

Do they actually do anything?

Doesn’t seem like it anymore. Not totally sure what the point of that change was but whatever.

I can’t recall where it was posted, but someone posted that you can now build ramps to make it possible to transfer cars down z-levels. If that’s possible, can dragged wheelbarrows be dragged down as well? And where do you find the option to build ramps?

Apparently because you’re not really expected to tuck anything except camouflage into it. Personally I think it should be dummied out until stealth and camo are added, because it’s a tad useless at the moment. >.<

How should I go about raiding a megastore?

As with apartments and hospitals, carefully. Either stick to a night raid and quiet weaponry, or get a deathmobile to drive donuts around the place and lure them out to get flattened.
