I just found out that you can force NPCs to give you things if you a have a mininuke in your inventory. When they ask you why they should give you something you get the option to say that you are holding a thermonuclear device.

environmental protection / EP:

What is the most EP that you need? Or you could tell me what is the strongest thing that EP protects you against and I’ll test it out.

Am I correct in assuming that the number that is tested it is a sum of all of your EP on all of your clothing/armor on your whole body?

Or alternatively, could you point me to where it is tested against in the code?

For protection against flashbangs, around 5 or 6 is enough to give reliable protection. Hence, welding goggles.

For common cold, 15-16 for both the eyes AND mouth is plenty. So just get a gas mask.

For fungul spores? I’m not sure, but you should probably just go for overkill and don a hazmat suit.

A full survival armor set will make you imune to fungal spore. If you have your armor penetrated by an attack from a fungus tendril you ll still get infected though.

12 on mouth for thick smoke and 15 for gases, 15 on eyes for huge boomers, 9 on legs and feet to prevent acid seeping in from the pools of acid, 9 on all major body parts (with hp) to prevent fungus.

EP is summed, so if you can’t find a gas mask, 2 filter mask should be enough for most of the things.

Roll for EP is in the form “dice(power, 3) > dice(EP, 3)”, so low EP can still help. 5 EP gives 50% to resist teargas, even though you need 15 EP to be immune to it.

Ah right. And I forget the minimum for avoiding a cold.

Okay, so, I’ve prolly asked this before, but what’s the best way of killing hulks without explosives? I thought about hitting it with my APC, but I’m afraid it’ll wreck the APC and not kill the hulk. I hit a bear in a car once, and although it died, it wasn’t pretty.

Also, do solar panels have to be placed on to be placed on tiles considered “out”? And do turrets have to be placed on tiles considered “out”?

If you’re going fast enough, almost anything will get flattened without much chance to hit back. Failing that, a good gun and enough skill, or any mounted weapon.

Also, that can go on top on interior spaces, since they’re on the roof.

6 point blank shots with a Remington loaded with 00 shot should be enough, as long as you have atleast 2 in shotguns and you don’t get a lousy hit. Also, if you don’t consider molotovs as explosives, 3 well placed Molotovs and a couple of turns are enough to kill it.

I will consider using molotovs. The only reason I don’t want to use my shotgun is because I don’t have the armor to withstand taking hits from a hulk. And good explosives are too expensive when you can’t craft black gunpowder and you don’t have many shotgun shells.

I think I’m gonna try using the turret on my APC, or ramming it. If that goes horribly, horribly wrong, shotguns and possibly molotovs it is.

Unless, of course, I end up splattered across the road.
