Not sure if the unique property and the unique flag have any different effects, but setting minimum occurrences to 1 should ensure it’ll spawn. Far as I can tell, occurrences determines numbers per chunk of overmap rather than per worldgen.

Unless you got hit by a huge boomer’s glowy puke, it’s likely just turrets having a decent vision range. At night it’s about 20-21 tiles, depending on the light they give off.

I have found a security van that doesn’t look too beat up, and I have spare parts in case of a breakdown. My biggest problem is that I don’t want to move all of my stuff from my van, which is in quite good condition and has been modified to an extent. Should I make the switch? Both of them work fine.
Well, the security van would be pre-armored, but it might be worth it to wait and hunt down something even tougher. X3

If you use the tank mod, one of those are a a good candidate, otherwise, a personal carrier is good since its big, armored and has lots of storage built in already.
I think I’ll try to find one and fix it up. I suppose moving all my stuff (depending on how much is left when I find one) would be worth it. BTW, where do you find these military vehicles? Any words of caution?

Speaking of the tank mod, can you install mods on a already made world? I want to add some of the experimental mods (i.e. tank) to my cooper save that I transfered.
The save folder has a file that lists the mods the world uses. Adding mods to that list SHOULD work, but might have some issues. For one, I’m assuming you won’t start encountering tanks until you venture beyond what’s already been generated.
Assuming nothing breaks from doing so, but it’s usually removing mods from the list that breaks the most stuff, for obvious reasons.

I’ve seen SWAT armor in the SWAT trucks at least.
In experimental, turrets will fire at you at range 18, day or night, military or civilian. 19 and farther is safe.
