Tips, Tricks, and Newb Questions!

Should mean the damage of the shots, rather than the damage of bopping things with the gun. If you’ve loaded it with ammo, it’ll further reveal its meaning by becoming a set of numbers meaning gundamage+ammodamage=totaldamage.

In general it’s roughly comparable to the total damage of melee weapons, though how accurate a shot you score means a lot. Even with very high-range rifles, you’re better off firing at short ranges to get the maximum amount of solid hits for more damage. Which makes shotguns remarkably more useful than most players give them credit for. Unless you play with hordes on. In THAT case you’re better off not even moving, breathing, or otherwise making any noise. :V

As for actual rifles, hoard at least one of every ammo type, if its practical to do so. Any decent gun with burst fire is potentially wasteful, but good for “oh shit” scenarios. You will be wasting ammo in the long run if you picked the Tripper Happy trait, though.

Ok, thanks for clearing it up.

How can you build more cargo storage areas on cars? I don’t have them learned yet, or at least don’t know what books contain the recipe, if there is one.

i play with hordes and i still find shotgun as usefull weapon i just need to avoid firing it near base but every horde in area was atracted by gunfire somewhere else that even mininukes cant atract any hordes

crafting cargo carrier take some time, better get them from flatbed trucks when i get back to my base i will look at books for recipe

how to drop less than all my ammo? it allways drop none or all

Type the number of how many you want to drop before selecting them

I have a question: How do you add things in a mod to already existing things in the normal game? Example: Adding a custom profession in a mod to an already existing scenario in the game.

You can overwrite scenarios via a mod. More Survival Tools is a good example if you need an example to look at, if that helps.

Thanks, time to reverse engineering mods again.

That was the first step for just about everything I’ve done, after all. Even then, copying the main game’s scenarios.json works too. XP

And a following question… (feels like a noob) What does the challenge flag do in scenarios? And is there a fall equivalent of the winter start flag?

Far I know, no option for winter start. That reminds me, I wonder if the other map specials can be referenced too by editing that scenario flag, or just the heli crash…

I think you need to add the map special and then create the flag for it. I have been able to use the surrounded start flag and wondered if I could use a flag to make it start in the fall instead of winter like the WIN_START.

tried adding ‘AUT_START’ to the flags?

Might as well try it, what do I have to lose.

Well I’ll be damned…It worked…

Ooh that is neat.

Now we need a Texas mode that starts in summer. o3o

Here recall there been like a desert option when making a world, i wonder how far that went as i don’t see that option anymore…
The lack of trees made it nicer to drive around at 600~…

I wonder what broke to make them remove it. o.O

Texas isn’t THAT bad…It only has very hot and dry climate, tons of mosquitoes, hurricanes (by the coast), and large patches of wilderness where once entered no one will find you…help me…

Enjoy the alternating heat waves and drunken weather. ;A;
