You know what sucks? A zombie spitting three gallons of acid at you while being groped by a bunch of other z’s.
On related note do I need to wear two leg splints if both legs are all acid burned down to nothing?
you need only one splint for both legs because even if you wear two only one will heal at a time so get some books and cough syroup and sleep in bed when you can
Good call. Basically have read everything I have as of now. Gotta go scavenge here before to long as water is getting low. Thanks for the reply
[move]Whoa, BAY12 didn’t have marquee text…[/move]
Anyhow, what’s a good, reliable medium-range weapon for taking down zeds?
I like to travel light when I can (but usually end up wearing like five backpacks and being overburdened anyways), so only bringing a single firearm out on scouting missions would be good…

Most pistols are decent at a good range for their compactness, but a single rifle of just about any rifle-grade caliber will get better results if you can tolerate the weight. A shotgun is also a good “oh shit” weapon, or you can pack a bow.
bows and pistols if you need light accurate and fast weapon (and reflex recurve is powerfull too!)
try carry one shotgun too just use shoulder strap or back holster
crossbow can be good but its slow firing and since traps stoped to spawn in the wild is harder to get crossbow and better craft bow
for rifles is good to carry laser weapons if you have ups cbm and a lot of power
another rifle is mossin nagat not too heavy and accurate what do more damage than sks or ak
Absolutely. A proper deathmobile is as much a mobile home as it is anything else, and it’s the best sort of home to have in this game. It provides heat, light, shelter, a place to craft, a place to sleep, and a place to mount weapons too heavy to carry into battle yourself.
I made a 3x3 foot pedal/electric/1cylinder folding vehicle. 3 cargo carriers and the wide variety of fuels means it makes an excellent runabout. Fits in the storage portal in my deathmobile. I have to turn on hydraulic muscles to lift it in and out, but otherwise it’s just like a folding bike. Very handy for the kinds of road blocking pileups you get inside even medium cities. Extremely fragile, of course, but easy to repair; mostly requires pipes. That’s about the best substitute for the ability to carry or tow a smaller vehicle I’ve found.
starting out, just anything I can layer together that adds to correct warmth level, and protects well. Later once tailoring skill is sufficient and I have necesary materials, full survivor gear is a good way to go. Especially WITH tailors kit
(If you can find some, there’s an “armor” that foldable in there, too - it takes superalloy sheets, which you get from disassembling the superalloy CBMs. It only 50 durability, but it doesn’t add much weight or volume, either.)

Yep my foldable bike i use to scout around cites as the deaththingy/fort is way to fat for it…and have to say im 100per sure it the only thing that saves my bicycle wheels form the dreaded brush and small trees sometimes…
Bike contains 2 bicycle wheels, 1 foot crank…(because the only foldable engine cant move it… less noisy, 1 pulse laser turret+frame, 2 cargo carriers, and added ram after unfolding, sadly the frames are all handles because they fold yet are much better in every-way i can see vs the foldable frames…
Firefighting gear (turnout coat, trousers, etc.) is often pretty protective and relatively easy to find. My favorite looted armor though is a SWAT suit from a police station.
before going for armor better get some mele skills on easy targets
personaly i like firefighter mask, helmet and combat boots and if i am lucky elbow and knee pads for early-mid game on torso i wear something light like leather jacket because backpacks give me enought protection before i switch to survivor gear
For combat protection (bash/cut), leather gear is pretty good in this respect, and it’s not too hard to get.
“Survivor” gear is usually a bit better than the leather equivalent. Usually you get that stuff by killing survivor zombies.
I emphasize low encumbrance first, high storage second, and high protection third.
If you are willing to put up with some encumbrance:
MBR vests are all very high protection. The ceramic version has 15/37 protection for just 1 encumbrance.
Steeltoed boots.
2-by-arm guards and 2-by-shin guards.
For environmental protection, survivor gear is very good, and firefighter gear (“turnout”, “flame-resistant”, etc) is almost as good.
What i am suposed to do with book what i got on ranch? I have one and when i talk to merchant he just give me this same mission again
And what if bandit informant died before i talked to him? I saw guy what is one but i saw that he have dobule barrel shotgun when i was back here with more firepower and better armor that room had both guards dead (traitor and normal) wall was smashed and some zombies were here now i cant finish old guard quest because traitor is dead and i do not know that he is traitor
and questline for guy what want you do decrypt blackbox and other things sent me to waste sarphofagus to find military team but i lotted whole place (basement too!) and i got nothing for this quest
Thanks, I was able to get some leather stuff early on and knee and elbow pads as well. As another question, what does the damage on guns mean? It’s the one next to armor pierce. Any recommended rifles would also be nice to add, thank you.
