Use / (keep as backup) a plain quarterstaff. The weapon pull is magnetic and they can’t pull a non metallic weapon from your hands.
Not sure on the actual range, but they do seem to be able to use it pretty far away.
Cheers.

Quarterstaves take up a decent amount of volume, though. For some characters this may not be a problem, but for those it is a problem for, know that glass shivs, stone knives, and RM42 fighting knives all fit in a sheath and aren’t metallic. Granted, this is even more important to know for fighting shockers than it is for techs, as “punch it to death” also works against techs. Not so much against shockers.
As for solar panels and moonlight: makes sense. I play characters with Night Vision, and I’ve had summers where the moon is so goddamn bright they can’t sleep but can go outside and read a book by the bloody moonlight (I mean at normal speed, not the reduced speed you get in shady light). It’d be strange if moonlight that intense didn’t provide at least something for solar panels.
Is there some way to stop whatever you pick up from being wielded without a prompt when you have bare hands and a full storage volume? You know, kinda like there is when you hands are already full? My krav maga ninjas are somewhat hindered by the fact that they always seem to arm themselves with stuff like blankets and pillows without me noticing.
If you go into the Interface in the main options there is a option to allow picking up beyond your max cary limit. This would allow you to carry enormous amounts during inventory arranging. If this is not what your looking for then I would have to say stick with the prompts and don’t turn them off, they are there to alert you when your choices are limited to leave the item or wield it so you can take it with you.
That’s not quite what I’m looking for, but I bet it’s useful anyway, and you’ve confirmed there is some way to turn on a prompt. Guess I gotta get a little more familiar with the menus. Thanks!
prompt should be on by default. Says something like wield ___ ? Y or N. Although that might just be for dropping current weapon so you can wield the item your trying to pick up come to think of it…
True, volume 12 can be problematic, however, quarterstaves can be made pretty simply (you can ditch it if you need to), work with 2 of the the 3 major martial arts that have explicitly allowed weapons (Niten ichi ryu and Silat), have bash 23 and allow both parry and rapid strike. I usually stick with my q_staff until I find or make a decent sword.
I also think that would be cool if you could use the rifle holder to ‘sheath’ your quarterstaff, or build some other form of sling-over-the-shoulder to hold it.
Hrm. I guess you could try equipping a fist weapon (punch dagger/steel knuckles), afaik they use the unarmed skill and so should keep your hands “full” and still give you complete access to Krav Maga?
You can also go into the martial arts menu and select keep hands free.
Aha, that’s exactly it. Many thanks.
In your config directory you should have fonts.json file. Edit it with a text editor and change the numbers.[/quote]
unfortunately this also changes the font in your hud, so it messes things up
is there any way to augment your physical ability without resorting to CBMs/mutagen?
I wanna be the stronkest all-human out there.

Granades. Also, not sure if it counts, but learning martial art books will make your unarmed stronker. And finally, there’s the good ol’ method of increasing your melee skill (by shanking peasantry zombies) to become Godly.
Alpha mutation isn’t so much a mutation as just better human
Seriously? They don’t all just have bees in them? The only one I opened had bees.
You have to get the ‘BUFFS!’ explosion.

Here’s a few examples of some of the things you can get [SPOILERS AHEAD]:
BUFFS!: Which permanently increase some of your stats.
NERFS!: Which permanently decrease some of your stats.
BUGFIXES!: Which kill all insectoid creatures nearby.
Those are some examples. Discover the rest yourself!

'm already shanking all the zombies I can mate
and I just want to get stronk enough to launch car engines into a Z’s face.
And I want a permanent buff. Not something to OPee, but like THE STRONKEST PUREST HOOMAN FUCK DEM ROBITS AND MUTIES
Aplha mutagen is just better human other than that… your kinda asking to be too Op without being too op… Power armor maybe? Other than that saying I don’t want to do any of the things that will buff me stronger, but I want to be buffed stronger is kinda counter productive.
Maybe attributes could also grow like skills to a certain limit, which could be crossed with perks/mutations?
Coding on the other hand…

HOOOO boy. Although it would make sense, it’s kind of why they made mutation trees.
I could totally see CDDA characters benchpressing zombie child corpses to become stronger though.
