You can not permanently set hotkeys for items :S
Global hotkeys for certain items would indeed be handy.

and perhaps have non activatable items have low priority on hotkeys

Low priority? They would still get assigned one in which case this doesn t help much(drop one activatable item pick up one that isnt —> it gets the hotkey because theres no other option). Better don t give them a hotkey at all.

What you could have, is an option to make a “ghost” item that would reserve the key, if the item was removed from the inventory.

I sent a PR that allows disabling automatic inventory letter assignment.

It’s not the full solution yet, but it can make things less annoying.

I read the relevant code and I think I could implement a simplified version, without relettering, coloring etc., just with a dynamically populated menu.

I’m going to try it right now, because I always wanted something like this.

Do reinforced items give less heat? Despite being fine before, now my hands are frostnipped despite having light gloves and handwraps on. I went out in the rain, but this was AFTER that I got it.

Well going outside exposes you to the weather. The wind and rain.
if you got wet by not wearing waterproof clothing then your feeling colder. If theres wind and you do not have windproofclothing you ll feel even colder. The inside coud have also been heated up by a fire going on. Thus going out alone has a high chance of changing your perceived tempreture from comfy to cold quite easily.

I think wind chill was not that long ago factored I mean getting wet then going out in the cold it is now factored for in the game

Afaik you can t learn that ingame.

In rain you ll get wet and stay wet if you do not have waterproofing. And that makes you feel colder till you fix that problem (by going inside and using a towel or waiting a while for example)
And it need not rain to make you feel colder … the wind alone has an effect already.

I think you don t need fabrication but not entirely sure.

Though you need 3 in mechanic and 3 in bowmenship? is that the english word for it? uh the skill for using a bow.

My survivor hasn´t slep since ~ 10 days and is not even tired yet. Does anybody know why?
Drinking cough syrup didnt help either, just got me addicted.
I´ve lost the addiction already but still can not sleep.

Was a previous bug where stims would over-stack. Thought we fixed it?
