Tips, Tricks, and Newb Questions!

HOLY FUCK!

I just realized you could do this - but if you get a wheelbarrow, replace the box with a trunk from a car. Boom, much larger inventory space.

Also I may be converting my wheelbarrow into an ATV.

Okay, either you’re commenting on my idiocy for having just realized this or my idiocy to do that to a wheelbarrow or maybe my ingenuity to make a Wheelbarrow ATV.

Either way, I’m just glad senpai noticed me.

HEAT is High Explosive Anti-Tank, so it penetrates through any armor it encounters THEN explodes, meaning yeah an HEAT round hitting a car near you will hurt with all the shrapnel and stuff from that, but the explosion itself shouldn’t be too awfully big. Unless the car explodes or something but that would probably be unlikely.

HE on the other hand is simply High Explosive, so it’d explode on impact with pretty much everything and it would be a big explosion, meaning it’d be very very deadly to you and STILL deadly to unarmored vehicles but less of a threat to moderate/heavily armored vehicles.
Sorry mate, you’re kinda wrong. HE has a blast fuse with a delay of anywhere from 0.5m to 2m. It hits, then after about 1 metre the fuse finishes burning and it actually explodes. APHE is a lot more sensitive, and usually goes off 0.1m after impact.

HEAT uses a very different principle, applying a shaped charge around a copper liner to form a jet of molten copper which penetrates, melts, and fragments armour it goes through. The sheer speed of the jet means that it pulls most the fragments it creates with it, which is what gives it most of its destructive potential. (Or it carves a hole through the crew compartment and creates a massive pressure vacuum on its way out)
It’s the anti-tank equivalent of using shaped charges to destroy something, careful direction of the explosion means more destruction in a smaller area, but at the cost of much lower area killing potential.

Speaking of which, HEAT is on its way out as a tank shell, KA, why don’t we just rename it to APHE? APHE shells work in much the same way that the ‘HEAT’ shells in Cata do.
Eh alright, I’m not an expert on it considering i’m mostly just saying how it works in ArmA, which is pretty much how I described it.

Who the hell would put a robot (which can be hacked) in charge of a 120mm tank cannon anyway?

Are you not familiar with the 'MURICAN military?

Stupid stupid question, but I’d like to know for sure before I do it and get killed anyway.

If I smash out one of the ‘high stained glass windows’ in a cathedral, will that change the tile to something a zombie can clamber through? Or will it remain out of their reach?

It turns into rock floor, so they’d just stroll/shamble right in.

Irradiated wanderer W. Is this a Fallout reference or am I trying too hard?

Correct.

Correct.
Answering an a or b question with yes ftw.

I have a question about Profession traits, which are a somewhat new feature.

I’ve noticed that you can get traits if you pick certain professions. Skater, MD, Police Officer and Police Detective.

What do these do? Are there plans for adding more?

use the funnel from your inventory. either select it and press a or press a then select it.
Then chose the direction you wanna use it.
Your survivor will then proceed to place the funnel at the desired location if its not obstructed.
Make sure to place it outside.
Now drop a container that isn t holding anything on the same tile… wait for rain … profit.

I have noticed that some recipies that involve clothing can use tanned hides, so how would you get tanned hides

Kill another living thing (you ruthless murderer )
Now proceed skinning it.
If you succeed get some salt and cue that hide.
Thereafter you can go right to tanning it. A hide gets tanned by beeing tanned >.> uhm :S You can achieve that using the crafting menu with some skill in cooking and survival.
Theres 2 methods. One need water and natron powder .-- its the harder one (on skills)
The other needs you to have uh all sorts of other stuff… raise your skill and see for yourself.
Good luck…

Leather funnel? That must be a new item. Maybe it is a bit buggy for now… hm try updating your version or use another funnel for now.
It should only take so much as maybe a minute or 2? Depends on the funnel. You can literrary stand there n wait a few minutes check and see progress in rainy weather. Note : The makeshift funnel is very ineffective and gathering water with it will take like 10 times (or even more) longer then the normal funnel. (dunno bout the leather funnel)

Leather funnel is about as ineffective as a makeshift, but can be made with skins. It’s there for Naturalists and other folks who are better with leather than plastic, and nowhere near a river or lake.
