AFAIK, computer skill is best grinded with the access melchior computer, which only countermeasure is (was?) releasing some angry manhacks on you, could be somewhat dangerous when you are new, but not generally dangerous to a well equipped survivor.
But yeah, clearing a single room can be worthwhile, but after that it you lose nothing if you choose to avoid, avoid, avoid. Unless you want the 9mm of course.
Bows, crossbows and similar weapons work really well too and are almost free to use.
Also, computers aren’t all that worthless - if you have anti-shock CBM, you can grind Computers on them. This helps with more important consoles later on.
Also, the computers in the turret rooms aren’t useless; once hacked you can reveal a sizeable portion of the world map.
Ooh. Just remembered I have that CBM.
Also, been killing them with an MP5, using the ammo of their fallen robotic brethren. Is it a good gain in EXP? I just want to be able to get into all of these locked CBM cases and the barracks to kill some Bio-Operators. I know they’re tough as a mug, but if chain lightning+monomolecular blade+hundreds of rounds of ammunition/grenades don’t kill them, ugh.
Also, is there any chance these guys in containment can pull an SCP and break out of their cages? There’s like 3 shoggoths here. Yay.
Not normally, but in the past they could be freed thanks to a small bug when loading and saving your game, its probably fixed now, but I wouldn’t risk it.
From what I can tell, only some consoles can release manhacks, most can only shock and shutdown. CBM containment ones can also alarm and do so even when you succeed at hacking.
Once you explore the area, no. But new areas can have “contained” (for one turn) flaming eyes, which will use their flaming gaze to destroy walls, showering the entire area in rubble and deafening you in the process. This can free other dudes, including shoggoths. They don’t need to see you to use the gaze and will do so at accurized sniper rifle ranges.
Does anyone know what’s up with the wiki?
I was going to create a new account to start editing it, but the website is broken or something.
Clicking the ‘create account’ button does nothing.
Tested on chrome and fox too.

I do know that a lot of pages wouldn’t load the other day, maybe it’s sad or something.
A quick question to people, I have the chance to make Medical Mutagen. I know that Medical looks good to me, but is it worth it? It has some bad debuffs…
In my experience, it’s only worth it if you can make a bunch of it and even more purifier, so you can fiddle around with it until you get an acceptable set of traits. That goes for all mutations, not just Medical.
"a"pply one end of the cable to both vehicles. Power generated from solar panels or alternators will fill up any batteries on the vehicle and then transfer to the other vehicle if there’s space. Power in batteries is not transferred.
Does the Enhanced Hearing CBM actually increase the amount of noise you make (with light step sound during movement went from 2 without the CBM to 7 with it) or just give you the ‘real’ sound number?
Kind of important as it seems a .45 went from about 50 noise to over 150.
Someone else actually just posted something about this in the garage.
Yes, certain things will modify your overall sound totals up or down, allowing more precise or less precise hearing (as well as altering the range where you are in danger of deafness. Currently the list is:
Enhanced hearing CBM
Slime perception
Bad hearing
Good hearing
Canine ears
Ursine ears
Feline ears
Lupine ears

I was actually wondering if it increased the level of noise generation as registered to other creatures. IE smashing a zed in the face with a mace used to make 8 noise, now it makes over 20, does that mean the sound is perceptible to everything within 20 spaces? Or does it only affect my perception of sound?
Quick question, is there any way to transfer power from car batteries to battery powered devices? (like flashlights, hotplates etc.) But without using the recharging station vehicle part.
It doesn’t have to be direct, (can you craft batteries from disassembling car batteries?)
