Hardware stores, random loot in houses, public works, subways…

Switchblades. They are actually incredibly good due to fast attack speed. Honestly I always run out of space before I get worried about a knife or a sword breaking down on me, even if I’m dragging a cart or box around.

The simple solution, I would think, is to build a mech suit you can wear to and from loot runs.

This suddenly begs the question of "has anyone worked out a way to make a gundam or such using cdda`s vehicles? :stuck_out_tongue:

Or you could just carry 1 decent melee weapon like a trench knife and a soldering iron. Not exactly a shortage of scrap metal about town.

Thanks, I’ve played for a couple of months and haven’t really taken advantage of vehicles. Always just walked around with a regular shopping cart. Now I can have a mega cart.

You can start a new vehicle from the construction menu. No disassembly required!

What exactly do heavier frames do, other than resisting damage? Do they actually protect things attached to them like plating?

Why don’t I get acid rains in experimental? Are they disabled?

How exactly do fungus spores work? I have seen spores get released (from fungaloids, fungal spires and my infected survivors), spores bursting and disappearing, some young fungaloids running around and growing up, but I have yet to see a young fungaloid spawn.

Are mutations weighted in some way? They all have point values, so I’d expect positively mutated survivor to get more negative mutations whenever a mutation isn’t forced to be good. Is it the case?
Are survivors with mutations from one category more likely to get more mutations from that category or do they just unlock related mutations?

How is crafted food “rottedness” calculated when materials are partially rotten? Is it possible to un-rot rotten food by crafting it into food that can’t be rotten? Is it possible to un-rot it by crafting it into food with longer shelf life or by mixing it with fresh ingredients?

Hello, I have the latest stable version and I am noob to this game. Now I ran two times in a scientist zombie and they released manhacks (green e) and both times I couldn’t land a hit on them, not a single one, and died because I also couldn’t run away from them. So how do I kill them or deal with them. Thank you!

manhacks require a higher accuracy to actually hit. get your skills up higher

i had mele 5 and bash 4 the one time and I still didn’t hit them once

Manhacks and most relatively small but powerful enemies (eg. zombie skeleton dogs) are well known early character killers because they are far faster than you, often come in packs and are impossible to hit.

One way to kill them is to get a burning bush between you and them. A bit gamey but hey, better than dying.

EDIT- With those skills you should have been able to hit a manhack, at least eventually.
Are you sure you weren’t in huge pain or had some other negative effects that slowed you down or made you inaccurate?

then the next question would be how much pain were you in and how much were you encumbered, encumberance directly affects your accuracy while pain indirectly through lowering your dexterity.

I don’t know about that, I will pay a closer attention but how high should the stats be?

to kill a manhack just throw something at them i with 12 mele and 14 cutting i cant hit one with mele weapon while with only 1 in throwing i can kill it with 1 rock

If fighting in melee torso encumbrance should be no higher than 1 or 2, every point reduces melee and dodge by 1 and increases melee attack cost by 30ish movement points. At 3 or 4 torso encumbrance somewhat experienced characters will have a very hard time in melee and less experienced characters will basically hit nothing ever.

If fighting with ranged weapons arm and hand encumbrance become important and torso encumbrance becomes mostly irrelevant.

Also more than about 10 pain is kindof bad above 20-30 becomes a big problem. Painkillers will help a lot with this.

How do I power a car battery that I find in an existing car out on the roads? Like, how do I make the percentage higher or whatever so the vehicle will actually start?

The pain resistaint trait is pretty good at making 20 ish pain only mean -1 int so i think it would be pretty vital for mele char

100 should be enough
