Turrets are reloaded with ammo belts. To make those, you need ammo belt linkages - where do I get those? Military installations only? Can I craft them? Fab10/Mech8/MMS5, no self-leaned recipe.
Vehicle cooler/heater - is it possible to set desired temperature? Maybe with another vehicle upgrade, like thermoregulating system or something like that. So it wouldn’t freeze me to 2C while it is +30C outside…
Turrets never drop ammo whatever way I kill them - ram, shoot, EMP. Why? Do I need to disassemble their "remains?, maybe?
Encrypted SD cards and SD science cards - how do you decrypt them. Is this what the lab cryptography station is for?
Hi, I’m GGGatherer and I’m a hoarder. Okay, that said, is there a way to automate unboxing of goods, mainly food? I mean, I have dozens of “box of %whatever food%” laying around and it makes my OCD go berserk. And it seems there is no way to pack everything in one box, only unpack, but the unpacking can only be done one container at a time. So is there a way to make it faster real-time? Maybe there’s a way to involve companions in doing this?
There’s a warning if your headlamp is still working when you’re going to sleep. There’s even a warning about electric blanket working, which you may actually need working at the time. But there’s no warning about mp3 player, well, playing. Why? Also, why doesn’t it make harder to fall asleep? And why does it keep spamming “you’re listening to %something something%” while you are asleep and cannot hear anything? Except, y’know, zombie hulks crushing the walls of your shelter and your companions, and that kind of thing. Which would wake you up anyway, unlike mp3 player.
They should unless there has been a recent change, is your version pretty up to date? I get three full belts and one partial one every time I kill a turret.
Use a tablet, takes computer skill.
No.
Not really a question It still raises mood while you sleep too which can be nice for keeping your focus nice and high.
Edit:
This is what it looks like after I kill a turret:
okay, thanks. At least I know I don’t have to pump mah skillz through the roof to get there.
 There really should be, though. In their current state, vehicle cooler, and I guess heater too, are just useless.
Oh yes, I just got my first mil. bunker as stealth archer NV sniper character, and CROWS do drop ammo belts. But 9mm, .50cal, and 5.56 turrets do not drop any ammo or belts. I’m using modular turrets mod though, maybe that’s the reason?
Thanks, will try it now.
There actually was a question, it being “why does it work like this”? Because it doesn’t make any sense.
It might be the turret mod, .50cal defo drop ammo since I looted a few belts from one a day or 2 ago for my vehicles Browning. I think (almost) all turrets have been renamed/replaced with various CROWS versions.
Answered your own question there Not everyone is going to be bothered by sleeping to music though.
Strange. I have Extended Realistic Guns and SD Magcrafting (which is what allows you to craft ammo belt links and make new belts, fyi) installed and I have the opposite issue, in that turrets drop and are reloaded with only loose rounds. Odd, because they still eject links when firing.
Actually the MP3 player makes a lot of sense. I can name three people I know off the top of my head who listen to music to go to sleep. It’s not super common, but it’s hardly uncommon.
Is the new power CBM system measured like in real life (1KJ = 1000 J)?, meaning if i have 100kj of energy i could power my infrared vision like about 20 thousand turns (since it says it cost 5J per turn)?
I’ve got 2049.950KJ left after but as far as I’m aware you can’t get much higher power then what I’ve got since I’m not using bionic slots and it tells me I’ve got max power. Maybe there is some variance based on what power storage types you install/ what you install last though.
Edit: misread what you put so ignore the last bit, thought you were asking about 100k KJ
Nice, having like 20k round of a low power consuming cbm is good.
Has there been any modification of the vehicle part? i cant seem to use any of my turret chassis and mounts i had from turret mobs, it just label it as red when i have like 5.
And is there an special way to make a turret automatic? it says it needs a turret control unit (which i have) but i cant figure out how to install it.
Weld it on to the tile containing the turret like any other part. If you can’t then there is probably already a part occupying its slot, but I’ve never had that problem.
Is there a way to make an autopickup rule to pick up all books (or any other category of items)?
e: also, do maps still work like in Vormithrax’s CDDA tips video, i.e. they add POI/roads/trails to the map in radius around your current location instead of a location they are named after?
I’m 99% sure they are centered round what area they are named after and I could be wrong but I’m pretty sure maps reveal information in an expanding ring based on what you have already uncovered.
Edit: I should say 99.99%, the only reason I’m not 100% is because I don’t have a map handy to check.
i thought the same, but afterwards i found that i couldnt install turret chassis that i got from the turrets, only turret mounts that i got from other vehicles. Lets hopes it gets resolved later
Map behavior was changed after my video. they now only provide details in a radius around their named location instead of your characters current location.
is there a way to set the minimum range of a refugee center spawning at the start of a save? i always like them to at least be 120+ tiles away, but pretty tedious to reset the world until i get there.
edit so i dont double post: I have always played with the no zombie revivification mod. but i want to try it, does revived zombies drop loot a second time?, or only if they evolve or nothing at all?
Zombies only drop loot the first time they are killed. When they revive, they leave behind all that they dropped, including their clothing. Then they run around naked until they are killed again, at which point they only leave behind a corpse and nothing else.
Also, they don’t heal instantly upon revival, they start at the lowest(?) health and heal with time, apparently retroactively when they enter reality bubble. So the longer you leave them un-pulped, the “healthier” they get when you return.
Rifle scope have no modifiers to dispersion/aim speed (well, technically it has, but they are both 0). Does it mean its only function is to serve as binocular/telescope replacement if you don’t want to waste space on them?
