Its a bit more labor intensive but you could install/uninstall the lights and cameras as needed. Just a thought.

Not a bad idea, considering it can be done quickly and safely from inside the car.

Personally I’d just add more storage batteries to your car. Only really use the flood lights at night anyways, and solar panels are fairly easy to come by once you’ve got a deathmobile active.

What about the vortex generator?, pretty neat

why does sometime normal walking does more or less noise?, i have seen it sometimes doing 6 noise and other just 4

Are you using certain perks? Like light foot?

It also coukd be the terrain a character walking on too, footwear, and maybe even if the character’s leg is broken.

Completely speculatory tho, not sure if those are complete mechanics to the game.

Woah. I take a break before 0.D comes out and this topic is still going strong. Anyways, I’ve gotten back to Cata and have been enjoying the recent experimentals. Still getting used to stuff like the archery nerf, new healing system, new zeds, having to reload batteries ( manual cranks sucks but it’s workable ) and the new crafting system and so on.

Speaking of the crafting system, I noticed something very annoying.

  • If you craft something that uses charges from tools ( fire, soldering iron etc. ) then if you pause crafting and resume it from the workbench, it takes ages for time to progress. It takes me like 15 seconds to pass 5 minutes crafting compared to about a second on brand new projects/things that don’t need charges. I’m assuming the game checks for the “charges” on the tool so often it slows the game down into a snail crawl.
  • Also, I noticed zombies poofing out of existence sometimes. It might just be because I’m using 3 core content mods right now and used to have experimental z-levels on ( after turning it off that’s when it began, I think ) Nonetheless, I had zombies literally disappear in front of me.

Heck, I even tried making myself a zlave. The first time I did it, it ended up ressurecting and killing itself on my nailboards near the stairs. So the next time I put the corpse next to me in the closet ( 1x2 space, locked door ) and when I woke up, it was gone. It wasn’t anywhere on the z-level I am on ( to clarify, I choose the apartment rooftop start ) so I think the zombie slave was send to the horde on the ground floor ( I always play with hordes on ).

Edit: Just like I thought, the zlave was downstairs and is safely tied up in my base now.

ohhh, i didnt knew that terrain/footwear had an effect, i have the light step trait, but the change in noise level is always on the same gameplay, that what bugged me out, even sometime crouching made sound, like every 2 steps a sound level of 3, at least i now know im not bugged xD.

Yeah I know terrain is the main factor, that’s what makes anytime raids so deadly, the fact that flat ground is louder

Does anyone know if cata++ is updated/working?, tried to use it for the first time, but a bunch of errors showed up (tried it like last week)

It might work but things will probably be at least slightly buggy. As for the working part, the last update to the github was 3 weeks ago, so at least it doesn’t seem abandoned.

As long as the errors don’t crash your game you should be fine trying to play it. I remember blazemod giving me tons of errors with vehicles but it was nothing that really made the game worse, and it wasn’t even that annoying when the error messages popped up and you can set them to be ignored anyway.

  • Also, what happened to exp gain for skills? I don’t remember ever getting fabrication to 7 in less than ten days without books. All crafting skills seem very fast to train to the point that I didn’t realize I got my tailoring up because I was fixing my clothes.

Might irradiation make it impossible to move a shopping cart?

I was just rolling along the apocalypse when I stopped to check out a crater. I’ve only come across a few so I wanted to get a closer look. I let go of my cart and looked around for probably 10ish turns total. I got bored and decided to carry on, but when I got back to my cart, I suddenly “lacked the strength” to pull it. I noticed my character is suffering from irradiation, but it only says that it “weakens your body” and it doesn’t explicitly show any stat changes in the description or in my stats. My Strength Stat still says “10 (10)” for example, so I’m not sure what exactly was weakened or how to get my cart moving again.

Is your cart in a pit/crater, or on long grass or something? That can make it much harder to move. Try to unload it, its weight will also increase the strength needed to pull a vehicle. Failing that, try to dig/cut the grass or fill in the pit.

Thank you!! That was the problem. I didn’t realize I had taken the cart onto a crater tile, I thought it was right next to it. Unloading the cart allowed me to move it again.

Sometimes I forget that the problem solving in this game is often “what would I do in real life?”

So I noticed that apparently you can no longer reinforce Heavy Survivor Armor ( or wrist watches for that matter ) with soldering irons/welders. Does that mean there’s a dedicated tool to such purpose now? Or are non-fabric armors stuck at bright green now?

Yeah, you can’t reinforce weapons and non fabric armor anymore.

Can’t reinforce weapons? Must be a bug right? I think you need a repair kit or gunsmith repair kit for weapons tho.

Anyways, what is the new crimson/violet status effect, is it just a mix of infected and bleeding? Wouldn’t a half green/blue and red work better for status?

Another quick question, why do my brazier fires keep going out? It usually wouldn’t be a problem to just waste a lighter or something, but it causing my game to crash because it usually stops halfway through crafting clean water, which apparently causes it to go back between water and partially crafted clean water that can’t exist in the space time continium and sucks everything into a black hole. Aka crashing, it also gives me stranger one like “8x40mm caseless is not a craftable ammo type” and then crashing, when I’m making water too

That’s a weird bug. If you can reproduce it, post that sucker to github. Generally braziers go out either because they are out of fuel or they are getting rained on. To keep your brazier going during a long craft, designate a firewood spot using the constructions menu(defaults to * iirc). If you put your wood on that spot, you’ll automatically feed the fire so you aren’t left in the dark.

Yeah, it is annoying, the brazier is on surface level, next to a window but still completely indoors in my cabin, and it seems it goes out when all of the planks go from normal to burnt.

Thanks for the idea, was about to try that but haven’t gotten on yet.
I am using 3 condoms and a partially filled condom to make the clean water too, but the problem is trying to continue crafting clean water after being interrupted crashes the game.

I also have a general issue with the fact that I can’t fill containers with any type of water, at a toilet I had recently unfroze I attempted to place the water in a condom, and only got 4/16 with (hot) water and wasn’t able to take anymore. I’m guessing this could be the fact that the pickup UI pops up without a prompt, and doesn’t ask if what I want to do with the water
