Tips, Tricks and Newb Questions: Reborn!

Doesn’t ‘f’ work? Check inventory, mech’s weapon should be shown as wielded after you have mounted it.

Yeh it shows my hands as empty when I get in the mech, my character has the blaster arm, I wonder if it’s that that’s causing it

Update, yeh it defo looks like having the fusion arm is what’s stopping the mech weapon from appearing.
As luck would have it while playing another char I found another spectre outside it’s container, the weapon system appeared just fine for this char

Does fusion arm block you from using 2h weapons? I think that’s what’s happening.

Yeh it does, normally this can be overcome with very high strength, so in this chars case I activate my hydraulic muscles to pick up things then I can deactivate it and still use the item in question.
I wonder if I can trick the system by activating my hydraulic muscles when I enter it

just for context this is a very very old character which is why it has this cbm rather than making the far more practical gun(cool factor + ignorance) is there a way to get rid of this damn thing my character is literally being disabled by it.

Another question, what on earth is going on with combat? All of a sudden even small groups of enemies are deadly if you are being attacked by more than one at a time.

This old char in previous versions would laugh off being surrounded and mince everything surrounding her, now 2-3 enemies sees your char standing like a lemon while the zombies land dozens of attacks on you utterly wreaking you and your armour.

Just to be clear I’m not complaining, it’s actually refreshing, before this my char could walk though the middle of town in broad daylight and come out the other side with little to no injuries

There’s currently a bug/feature - when you are at high weariness your counter attempts take very much time. During which zombies munch on your brains.

Ah that would explain a lot

If you’re playing on recent versions, the haywire nursebots will remove CBMs from you. I don’t know if they’ll do that one, it’s been obsolete for a while, but it might be worth a try.

I’d love for that to be the case but this old char is stacked with far more cbms than the current builds allow and I’m assuming the bot chooses the cbm at random which is a needle in a haystack for this char

If I understand it correctly, restrictions to the number of CBMs is a mod, so in theory you could try until it was removed and then reinstall the other ones again.

However, removing it shouldn’t do you any good, as installation of that CBM involved removal of your arm, so unless removal of that CBM doesn’t work as it ought to (quite possible), you shouldn’t get your arm back anyway.

I might have to do some save file editing shenanigans tbh, it just feels like that this cbm in its current state is a noob trap

A fun noob trap though. Blasting those things around wildy while guzzling a bunch of alcohol is a great way to spend a cataclysm evening.

yeh true :), i mean the character has had the thing for 7 years now

I assume it is a bug to have two Hub 01 in the world?
I’ve got the bugged nanofab quest+ from the first one I found, and when I come to the second one the act as if they’ve already told me to go away.

+: Bugged as in: the blasted thing wasn’t at the specified location. Looking through the save for it doesn’t reaveal it either. It can be hacked in through the debug menu, and that does allow the quest to be finished, only for it to be the end of the quest line, so I reverted the save to before wishing for it.

WHAT? THERES AN ARCANE SMITH?

Crazy, crazy, crazy. I’ve found runaway wizards living in abandoned homes and some paladins living on the outskirts but never have I found a magic smith.

Well, looks like I’m on the lookout.

idk if it is a bug but it can happen with any special place. Hub01, refugee center, Tacoma, even Necropolis. If you explore enough, you will find doubles. The only thing I haven’t encountered yet is double Isherman farm but then again I’ve only found one in a year of playing.

Tacoma? what is that?

Tacoma farm is a location resulting from a Refugee Center quest line. Not sure how that is duplicated, unless GiggleGrassGatherer means the layout, in which case I’ve found another one (and I did encounter the “real” one before it was settled).

Easy, you do the quests for 2nd ref center, and they send you to the 2nd Tacoma. inhabited and all.

Can someone explain this to me: I have 5 more encumberence than i should, like even when i’m naked i still have 5 points. Where do they come from, cus i only know that clothes adds enc.
