A solar cooker / solar oven could very easily be made out of a cardboard box and aluminum foil and spraypaint and would passively cook simple meals like rice or beans or veggies. Or it could be used to keep already cooked foods warm and keep that morale boost.

Instead of having to take valuable time from scavenging, sleeping, etc, you can set your solar cooker out in the sun, fill it with with food and come back that night to a cooked meal waiting for you.

You could also find much more efficient solar ovens at sporting good stores.
