Should I use fire or axes to clear a forest?

I saw one missing .50cal bullet turn a tree into a pile of splinters and branches.
Maybe some explosives are strong enough to take down a bunch of trees.
Thous methods are expensive, but maybe it is better to spend time searching for/crafting .50cals and explosives than cutting with axe and resting or waiting for a fire to do it’s job.

I do the chainsawwing when it’s time for sleep, but my PC is not weary/tired yet.
