At 21 strength you’d be splattering most enemies in the game with an ordinary pipe anyway. So it doesn’t seem OP, just kinda pointless. With the strength requirement, once you’re hit you won’t be able to lift it, so why use one over a standard weapon?

am I the only one who things using an engine block as a morningstar is awesome?

Also I’ve already suggested the idea of single-shot pistols that use rifle rounds (since they do exist and are awesome) but it got shot down pretty hard.

Single shot pistols would be awful in this though. And for some reason a rifle round doesn’t seem to be all that effective in my experience. I find a .45 pistol round is pretty much the ultimate projectile weapon barring the railgun.
