Infinite pipes/scrap metal when smashing metal posts

I was smashing some fences at a small power substation I’ve been using as my main base, and I’ve noticed that when I smash the metal posts, they don’t go away. Instead of the metal posts being removed from being smashed, they stay, and I’m able to get infinite pipes and scrap metal from them.

Confirming that I have also have this happen when I smash the fencing/metal posts that make up the ‘armory’ inside of an LMOE.
