Game Translation Files
I can translate the Game in Italian, since it’s my mother tongue.
But I have no idea how to get around to Github so…where do I pick the game files for translation purposes?
Easiest is to use Launchpad. Go to https://translations.launchpad.net/cdda, register a launchpad account, and start translating :). You can also download and upload the translation files there if you would prefer to use an external program.

Working on it right now then.

Hi,

Could you add ja.po file?

I’ve put up a pull request to add it to the github repo: https://github.com/CleverRaven/Cataclysm-DDA/pull/3637.

It should carry over to https://translations.launchpad.net/cdda with the next .pot file update.

Hello.

I would like to translate the game into Vietnamese, can you add a vi.po file so I can start translating it on Launchpad?

My thanks in advance.

Don’t need to add one, you can just tell Launchpad what language you want to translate into and it adds it for you :).

Then the next time translations are pulled from Launchpad it will come along onto github as well.

Thanks, I thought it was more complicated than that. I will start translate it right away then.

Cheers

Edit: I’ve started the translation (trunk series). For anyone interested, it’s located here: https://translations.launchpad.net/cdda/trunk/+pots/cataclysm-dda/vi/+translate

Noticed that the Italian translation reached a dead point, mind if i continue it?

Feel free, it should all be coordinated thru Launchpad now, so just add some translations at whatever pace suits :).

Ok thanks, probably it’s gonna take a month or so, every week i’ll be posting a log with my progress for thoose who are intrested.

It’s time for update pot-file, don’t you?

For da great justice.

it is… but someone just added 20,000 world names to the names file… gotta fix it first

Yes. I have seen that commit. Please, just ignore that file it in python extractor.

OR… I have great idea. May be we should create another .pot file only with names?

I think handling names separately so each language can add as many or as few as they want might be a good idea. A separate file not handled by gettext, maybe. Like “data/names/.json” or something.

But for now I’m gonna tell the extractor to ignore the world names.

Hello, guys.

I’m new in the community and I’m a member of a small group which is willing to contribute for the pt-br (Brazilian Portuguese) translation that has 0% translated so far. For now, our goal is to finish translating by the end of next week.

So, just a heads up that we’ll start it tomorrow morning!
If no one minds, of course!

that is a big goal

by the way, i recommend not translating any names yet, as we’re changing the way we handle them. So anything from “json_names.py” feel free to ignore for now.

I started doing a finnish translation. This will take alot of time since im doing this alone but letting anyone know IF there is any other finnish players around.

I think Zaweri might be? Not sure about that though.
