I butchered zombies, dogs and the game hints there was bionics in them, which could be wrong or all the mutts are now kiborgs. 
My character is new so i presume i can’t cut out CBMs yet, anyway i tried on some zombies and dogs and found nothing.
As far as I can see this is being looked into https://github.com/CleverRaven/Cataclysm-DDA/pull/24879
pretty sure it just offers and you have to do it yourself
