Draw Your Cataclysms
Nifty. Wish I’d known as I’d have sent you a better ref than whatever Gravatar generated based on my e-mail.

I suppose there is something to being a holoprojector-bot with a hoodie, though. Really see Head of Mutations’ True Form? Y/N (capitals required)
I will admit to not knowing how to draw your and Bevapdin’s avatars. But now that I look at them finished I think they are the two I like most. I really like the holobot projecting an avatar because now that I think about it, its a cool representation of actual internet avatars.

ONLY IF YOU PROMISE I WONT GO MAD FROM THE REVELATION

I dunno.
Continue. Please.

Ka has a beard, btw.

Reference images, technically I’ve used both of thes as avatar images before, so that counts right?

Hrm, I always wear glasses, except when people are taking pictures of me I guess.

Beard is too amazing, nerf plz

That was short lived, I got tired of shaving and freezing my face off in Wisconsin, so I grew a beard, which solved both problems. My wife HATED it though.

I wonder what I would look like in that sort of thing…
Well, one way to find out!

[me=AseaHeru]begins working furious- wait, no he dosent, he’s too worried to code, and too lazy/scared to learn.[/me]

Not Cataclysm in the slightest.

How is it not? Armors, shovels and hats man.

I finally decided to draw Cata-related stuff. New survivor named Dimitry. Shotgun pistol as the flare gun at least until i find a REAL flare gun.

Also, damn, I was drawing this while HEAT OF THE DESERT DUST SETTLES ON MY FACE was blasting on a god damn repeat into my ears. “The Hot Wind Blowing” is by far the best MGR:R OST track for me. Even better than “Red Sun”.

Holy shit, Dimitri looks really badass.

And is it just me, or does he look REALLY familiar? Or at least the pose looks familiar. And the scarf, I think. Shit, this is really gonna bug me now.

You guys have any suggestions for what sketch-art program I should use? I want to create some C:DDA Characters at the moment, and MS Paint makes my eyes bleed.
And please, be free. I don’t have a Swiss bank account like El Presidente

Alias Sketchbook Pro. Autodesk usually has a trial version you can try out. It’s mostly intended to imitate classic media, so pens, ink, pencil, paint etc. It’s got layers but it’s basic for layer mixture and post-drawing manipulation like photoshop has.

There is also GIMP! Which has more layer-tinkering/blending options like blur and colour adjustment, and soforth. You can draw with it too. It’s also better than Sketchbook Pro is for doing anything where you’re messing around with pixels too, so you can do sprites with it. GIMP is really more like a low-end photoshop imitation.

For pick-up-and-go-scribble you’d probably prefer the sketchbook pro.
It’s best when you have a tablet with which to take advantage of variable pen-pressure, but you can edit ‘brush’ parameters pretty easily to create something that’ll work with a mouse, too.

SAI might be free? I can’t remember if I got a pirated copy or just a free download. I forget the origin of a lot of things.

OK, Riley hasn’t been reanimated but the Necromancer role could be parsed as talking at the zeds.

The gear looks within DDA specs, and that hand in the lower-left corner in particular is suspiciously similar to Ka’lol’s, what with the fingerless glove and cybernetic fingers. We certainly have plate armor and zweihanders.

Getting Left and Right mixed up can happen in DDA, especially when driving small vehicles.

So despite your sincerest efforts, that art is at least slightly DDA related. Sorry, Dust.

Thanks, Eventually i’ll post my characters up (Not the best drawer in the world, and my parents didn’t give me a I-Phone or tablet, just a flip phone.)

It just keeps happening! It’s leaking into my everyday life.
I CANNOT ESCAPE THE CATACLYSM!

Escaping the apocalypse is generally impossible. They’re kind of all-encompassing!

Darn, my art thing isn’t CATA related. I can’t find that other thread of posting artstuffs!

The world’s shittiest, hideous-orange laptop bag is now the most sciency. I now have significantly less blue and white paints both. I don’t have a damn clue where I got them from, but that’s not the point. The point is Science.

I’m using pirated SAI, but if you dun wan piratin’ then stick with something like free version of SketchBook or maybe just go get Paint.NET if you don’t have a tablet.

Nice thing (in my dated experience) with sketchbook trials is that they don’t consume free-trial-days until you close the program. It’s actually a count of how many times you can start up the program, not literal days.
