Bleach not counting as cleaning agent when using a water pump

so for some reason even though i’m literally holding a gallon of bleach in my hand the washboard says I don’t have enough cleaning agents to clean a simple skirt
usually I don’t even have to have soap in my inventory for it to work if there’s shallow water, but not even wielding or having the literal gallon of bleach in my inventory works

You need soap and water for washing clothes with the washboard , and detergent in the case of using it in a vehicle mounted washmachine

I’ve also been confused by bleach’s description. But then again, not sure if I’d want my clothes all looking pearly white.
