Huh, didnt know it was possible to dorf in such way.

Also, Iā€™m not sure about this, but according to the item browser, strawberry surprise has a health value of 3 (herbal tea, in comparison, has a value of 1). Soā€¦ leukocyte might not even be needed. Boozeberry has one. Boozeberry is actually filling (30 nutrition, 15 quench), but not enjoyable. Strawberry surprise is 8 nutrition and 15 quench, enjoyable, and comes in 6 servings and you can put in 120 servings on a large waterskin.

So, in theory, you can probably stay healthy and fed plus slaked even without leukocyte breederā€¦ though without blood filter youā€™ll be at risk with stat loss and being trashed if you consume too much.

Well, as long as you drink to full and slaked before reaching hungry/thirsty, it should be all right without blood filter. Trying to fill up while very hungry and thirsty is an invitation to puking, but itā€™s possible to do the dorf diet with those drinks, without really relying on the two CBMs.

I pretty much just live off ant/spider eggs and milk tea/atomic coffee.

Where you get milk?

Well, gallon jugs of milk thatā€™s fresh are fairly rare at the startā€¦ though after several days all the milk youā€™ll find will be rotten, unless itā€™s from an ice lab or a lucky drop from a zombie.

Thereā€™s also powdered milk you can find, which wonā€™t rot, and can be used to make milk tea as well. Ditto condensed milk. Thereā€™s also the exploit on crafting rotten food that if the end product wonā€™t rot then you can use the rotten food to make unrotten items. So that gallon jug of rotten milk can be made into usable powdered milk.

Herbal or dandelion tea is easier to make. Wild herbs and dandelions can be foraged pretty much everywhere. And you only need one wild herb/dandelion plus one water to make. While herb/dandelion tea only has one serving when you create one, and milk tea gets two servings, milk tea spoils and you need tea as well to craft it.

Other than that exploit with making powdered milk out of rotten milk, milk (and by proxy, cheese) appear to be unreliably renewable at best and non-renewable at worst. Not until we can do more things with animals than beat them in the head with things, or just shoot them.

I look forward to the day we see an implementation of a taming system. I suspect it will come not long after the NPC overhaul reaches its finality and factions start to become functional.
