Are flares bugged?

Spawn flaregun, fire flare, It goes out almost straight away - after a few seconds at most.

I checked online to see how long they go for usually, just in case it’s meant to work like that and it says flares usually last for 10min - 60min.

Is it suffering the effects of the decay system like fires were?

yeah, they generate a small class 1 fire, but because of how its bugged currently it just instantly goes out.

as an added weird effect, it also causes your character to ‘attempt to start a fire’ in a spot thats clearly nowhere near the flares effect

which is weird.
