Zombie Evolution: Suggestions/Ideas thread

What about a smoker skeleton?
When the goo transforms biomatter into smoke the remaining boimatter gets reduced(unless smokers are supposed to be the only zombie eating) -> smoker skeleton!

Also, why don´t reviving dead animals and NPCs whitch didn´t got butcherd after some time as zomified versions? The goo should be in them as well and once the animals die it can take over.

NPC reanimation is on the roadmap.

I’ve still yet to hear any good ideas on zombies that can potentially go invisible like the Predator. Would the blob even be able to do that though?

Either that or some kind of “Stalker zombie”, like a zombie troglodyte that moves silently, has very high night vision, excellent sense of smell, and attacks via hit-and-run - hitting the survivor before retreating back into the darkness to strike again. Sorta like manhacks. Or the Bloodsuckers from S.T.A.L.K.E.R. minus the cloaking. Could probably be an upgrade, I feel zombies are a little bit useless when the sun isnt out, especially if you have weak scent and light step and night vision. I want to be able to fear the night without having to enable the zombie night-vision mod.

Either way, I especially like the idea of zombies that only ever come out at night and are specially adapted to it. Though I’m not sure how you might code that, for them to only spawn at night and possibly de-spawn (can you de-spawn at all?) during the day. Maybe they could just burrow into the ground like troglodyte and only come out after sunset.

Perhaps there can be two versions, one as a regular zombie and another in the likeness of the feral hunter / feral predators? “Feral stalkers” especially would be terrifying to deal with, for those with no light source or night vision.

A light-sensitive zombie that only lurks in dark places, and is damn effective doing hit and runs in the dark could be nice.

Maybe they can spawn underground and in caves? Underground areas are very…uneventful (at least until you get to the finale), and caves tend to have at worst a cougar or bear in them.

While we’re on the topic, what about miner zombies? Reanimated miners and such, equipped with hardhats and spawn exclusively underground?

Upgraded zombie animals would be nice as well. Once you reach a certain level, the zombears and antlered horrors are pretty much just a minor nuisance due to how few they are.

How about a hulkified version of the zombear. A zombie hulk is pretty much once a normal human who beefed up thanks to the blob. Imagine how powerful it can be when the hulkification is scaled up to a bear’s size.

I thought hulks were already bigger then your average bear.
