[WIP] Cataclysm: Gun Nut's Arsenal

No, I meant that you look up a specific gun, and either PM the name of it to me, or post it on the thread.

Woah! Been a while! Now I am back working on the mod.

My wishlist of weapons I would like to be able to find ingame. I checked the wiki for most of them but not all. I realize some of them on the list might be similar to what’s currently available in game. I also tried to come up with resonable pros and cons for the mods but some are just basic ideas I think would be cool.

Pistols
-Smith & Wesson Bodyguard in .38
-Taurus Raging Bull in .454 Casull
-Makarov in 9x18mm
-Stetchkin automatic pistol in 9x18mm
-Beretta 93r machine pistol in 9mm
-Skorpion Vz. 61 (various pistol calibers)
-Mauser C96 and M712 full auto variant (various pistol calibers)

Shotguns
-Saiga in 410
-Chiappa Triple Threat (3 barrel 12g)
-Neostead combat shotgun (12 shells between 2 feed tubes)
-Armsel Striker (12 shell revolver)

SMG
-Sten in 9mm
-PPsh-41 in 7.62x25mm
-M3 grease gun in .45acp
-MP40 in 9mm

Rifles
-Beretta Cx4 Storm carbine in 9mm
-M1 Garand in .30-06
-Lee-Enfield SMLE in .303
-Mosin-Nagant in 7.62x54R
-AK-74 in 5.45x39mm
-AKS-74U in 5.45x39mm
-Valmet M76 (7.62x39 or .556)
-Dragunov SVD in 7.62x54R
-Sig 556 in 5.56x45mm
-Steyr Scout in 7.62x51mm

MG
-BAR in .30-06
-Bren LMG (.303 or 7.62x51)

Weapon mods
-convert AR to picatinny rail system allows adding and removing of accessories quickly
-convert AR to .50 Beowulf (.50 Action Express (increased damage & recoil. decreased capacity)
-convert AR to blowback from direct gas impingement ( pros & cons?)
-Milled AK receiver (increased accuracy & weight)
-AK bullpup conversion (reduced action points and volume)
-AK scope mount
-laser sight should have the same drawback as a flashlight
-EOTech holo sight
-PSO-1 sight for Russian arms

Explosives
-shaped charge for breaching
-Claymore anti-personnel mine (directional blast possible?)
-bouncing betty anti-personnel mine
-remote detonator for some but not all explosive devices
-Detonator cord for breaching, destroying, setting off multiple explosive devices simultaneously and general mayhem

-Milled AK receiver (increased accuracy & weight)
Hah, I understand the milled recievers are in high demand because they improve even further on the AK's legendary reliability. (also rare because they only made milled receivers for a year before they switched to casting?)

May I add my own suggestions? I’m a huge gun nut, I love to role-play, and I think more guns would allow for various different styles or themes of playing.

-Colt Python, 6 rounds .357 Magnum.
-S&W 586, 6 rounds .357 Magnum.
-Browning Hi-Power, 13 rounds 9x19mm.
-Beretta 92FS, 15 rounds 9x19mm.
-Kel-Tec PLR-16, 10 rounds .223.
-Luger P08, 8 rounds 9x19mm.
-Magnum Research BFR, 5 rounds .45-70 Gov’t. Actually means Big Frame Revolver, but has been misinterpreted as Biggest, Finest Revolver or Big Fucking Revolver.
-Desert Eagle .50 AE, 7 rounds .50 Action Express.
-Mauser C96, 10 rounds 7.62x25mm.
-Taurus Judge, 5 rounds .410.

-M1 Garand, 8 rounds .30-06. Very heavy (9.45 pounds IRL).
-Winchester Model 1894, 7 rounds .357 Magnum.
-Mauser Karabiner 98 Kurz, 5 rounds 7.92x57mm.
-Lee-Enfield No. 4 Mk. 1, 10 rounds .303.
-M1918 BAR, 20 rounds .30-06. Very heavy (18 pounds IRL. And that’s with an empty magazine and no bipod).
-M14, 20 rounds .308. Could potentially keep firing after the trigger is released in full-auto.

-M16A1, 20 rounds .223. Had a nasty reputation for jamming (when it’s implemented).
-IMI Galil, 35 rounds .223.
-AK-74, 30 rounds 5.45x39mm.
-AKS-74u, 30 rounds 5.45x39mm. Less accurate and much less power than a full-size AK-74.
-RPK, 40 rounds 7.62x39mm.

-H&K UMP40, 30 rounds .40. I notice a lack of .40 SMGs in the base game.
-M3 Grease Gun, 30 rounds .45.
-M1928 Thompson, 50 rounds .45. Looong reload.
-M1A1 Thompson, 30 rounds .45.
-Sten Mk. II, 32 rounds 9x19mm.
-MP-40, 32 rounds 9x19mm.
-Skorpion vz. 61, 20 rounds .32.

-Winchester Model 1887, 7 rounds 10-gauge.
-AA-12, 8 rounds 12-gauge.
-Kel-Tec KSG, 14 rounds 12-gauge.

The question with all these guns is that will we really be able to find these in gunshops IRL?

In response to OP4, the Taurus raging “judge”, in .454 Casull, I’ve done coding for that already, I’ll send it to Zaweri, and he’ll add it here…

Sorry for always giving two link for item’s I’m now merging codes into one neat Pastebin, instead of two…

Is there a judge in .454? I thought the judge was only .410

.454 Casull was the initial make of the Raging Bull, IIRC. Then later they added a .500

The Raging Judge loads both, as well as .45 long. In fact, you can alternate them in the cylinder if that’s your thing.

I work in a machine shop IRL. We make a milled AK reciever out of 4140 Cro-moly. Most AK recievers are made of stamped sheet metal with cast and machined trunnions riveted in.

Most of the weapons I included could be found in a gun shop. The SVD would probably be the rarest one out of the bunch beside the full on machine guns which I think would be the rarest of the rare. But I’ve never seen a laser pistol in a gunshop either.

Its a game set in the future.
Expect lasers n’ shit.

Problem on .357 firearms is that they can load .38 ammo in them, but that is hard to code.

Most of these would only be able to be found in Military loot-caches or maybe even police evidence lockers? (Is there a special term for gun-trafficking bust evidence lockup?) And while ammo’s pretty rare in this I’d love to see some of these at some point…

H&K G36
FN F2000
M60
MG 74
PKP “Pecheneg” and/or PKM
L85A1
XM8
TAR-21

I’m pretty sure (Not 100%) that the ammo-types for those are all already in-game.
Problem on .357 firearms is that they can load .38 ammo in them, but that is hard to code.
You could change the name of the ammo type from .38 to .357, then add a .357 Magnum. .38 Special and Super would remain subtypes of .357.

OK, here’s my wishlist. How about it?

:stuck_out_tongue:

The problem is weapons like the .38 s&w revolver can use .357 magnum then…

Yeah, how about no? That game is for micromanaging gun nuts, and I am not one.

Neither micromanaging not a gun nut, and I still thought it was a pretty good game. It is a pretty good standby for Tons O’ Guns though. :stuck_out_tongue:

The problem is weapons like the .38 s&w revolver can use .357 magnum then…
Omit .38 firearms or alter them to become .357 firearms, i.e. make the 7-shot S&W 619 into the 6-shot 586. I tried that a while ago, never got to play-test though :frowning:

Oh, and the Desert Eagle .44 only has an 8-round magazine. Might want to bring that up to Glyph or Kevin.

Yep that’s the size they come in.

Yep that’s the size they come in.
Oops, I should have been more clear. The Desert Eagle .44 IRL only has an 8-round magazine; then Deagle .44 in-game has a 10-round mag.
