Madness. Meanwhile…I’m STILL mapping out the edges of this fucking city. All I wanted was a library. ;w;
Better off going out looking for a mansion or school. Even bookstores seem more common than libraries. And frankly, the public libraries have too much fiction and a poor selection :o
True, but still. Sometimes I make a good find. Besides, this town has been large enough to really get me curious.
EDIT: Well, it looks like the western fringe of the city abruptly terminates in a mansion anyway, so I get my wish.
EDIT 2: Gentlemen, behold!
wow that is an impressive city. Almost looks like that western part is a second city that got mashed into the bigger one. Urbanization visits Cata. Should we expect Judge Dredd soon?
Looking at it again, it looks like it might be 2 moderately-sized cities and a third, smaller town. Which is weird because I set city size to 3 and left the spacing at 4. :V
Still, maybe we need a Judge profession.
gasp what happens if you make it so the spacing is 1 or 0 and city size is max??? Would it be Judge Dredd scenario???
SOMEONE TRY THIS!!!
You basically make it Holy Terra. o3o
This was the city i spawned next to when I made my “New York City” game. 16 city size 1 spacing and 5x spawns with both hordes and statics.
Day 27. There’s a triffid grove nearby, and I reckon it’s time to use the turbolaser.
I brought down the parts for a wheelbarrow turbolaser down on an anthill. It certainly decimated all the ants crowded together… though the ant eggs were also destroyed.
Anyways, because it would be a waste after all the gunpowder used crafting it, emptied out all the blunderbuss flechettes on an extended test of the thundergun. It’s certainly powerful, using the coat artifact that lets me see through everything its main weakness of having range problems if there’s a smoker or bloated obscuring the view is covered. Still firing at four tiles away or less puts the vehicle where its mounted on in danger, as there are several parts that will take a lot of damage with the shrapnel.
It’s got burst fire, which can be useful if there’s large crowds, and at the same time eat up ammo if you have the trigger happy trait, which my survivor does. Several times the corpse was already vaporized and it kept firing at empty space.
Unlike the hypervelocity driver, it can’t vaporize zombies on impact, and you pretty much need to fire at where the corpse is, or hit a nearby zombie so it can gib the corpse. The shrapnel seems to do the vaporizing, and since it’s flies around randomly it’s pretty much hit or miss doing that job. It can vaporize hulk corpses… if you’re really lucky. You can fire at a hulk corpse hundreds of times with it and you won’t do any damage, so it’s not really reliable.
Also tried out the mountable laser rifle. Looking at its stats, it’s pretty much the same as the turbo laser, though it’s only has 2/3rds of the armor pierce and range of the turbolaser. However, it’s got a 2-shot burst, and it doesn’t have the big explosion the turbolaser has. On one hand, vaporizing corpses is harder to do due to that, but at the same time you there’s no danger firing it close because there’s no explosion. It’s also powerful, and it’ll kill any zombie that’s not a hulk in one or two hits.
Once I go back to base I might rig up a 9x9 vehicle that has laser turrets firing. With that kind of firepower I can speed through a city and mow down hordes with ease. Add in a minireactor and several storage batteries so it can fire almost infinitely.
The Outback, named such because the welding rig and kitchen units are actually outside the vehicle, is capable of complete LoS breaking. The windshields and doors all have curtains on them, and the ones that cannt be reached from the drivers seat are power-operated. Thus, I can have complete seclusion.
The outback currently sports 2 water cannons on either side above its windshield. There are 2 large reservoirs for water, and 3 funnels. There is a small overflow tanks for water as well.
The outback features 6 cargo holds. There are 2 exits to the vehicle, and a folding seat and platform for avoiding nasty acid on the back ‘porch’. The survivor’s mobile home, The Outback only lacks a bed, instead opting for a reclining seat.
The Outback features 2 inboard mirrors at the edge of its hood and 1 on the kitchen unit for complete 360 degree vison during the day. At night, it has 4 headlights for a wide cone of vison, and a floodlight on the welding rig that will provide 360 vison without exposing the driver. The welding rig and kitchen are protected by long blades protuding from the back of the vehicle.
Once I find a grenade launcher to mount on this thing I will. On the back proch, actually.
Glorious. Clearly you need to also slap a gun on the driver’s position too. X3
hmmm.
The first of my zombies are upgrading into Hungry Zs
Early summer, after 28 days of spring. I was stripping a humvee for its ups charger and decided that I may as well replace the inferior parts I had used to patch the holes while I skilled up.
What started as a group of like 5 Greenies and a brute soon turning into a constant trickle of single zombies. Then one had the audacity to bang on a nearby car before I could get to him.
A horde from the south came up. A trickling horde of 5 to 10 at a time. Eventually I had to use my emergency molotov. That only pissed off a nearby necromancer.
So I swallowed my pride and hopped into the humvee. I backed it up, and rammed through them with my full water tanks and I backed up over the ones I missed and then I did it again.
All told, over 100 bodies lay, some pulped but all showing the wounds of a fire axe as it cleaved into them.
As I finsihed harvesting the composite armor, a zombie got up, a Hungry look in its eyes. For he had evolved into a new kind of Greenie. A Hungry Greenie.
= = = = =
So its nice to confirm that after 1 season the “14” upgrades take place. Knowing that, I think I may push up the greenies a little more. Honestly, although I made the mod so I didnt have to keep updating the jsons, Ill temper it to other peoples playstyles too.
I was using a fire axe, have 4 melee and 3 bashing. Im a slow learner, so make of it what you will, but the Z took several hits.
I killed all the blobs in a slime pit, but I wanted a bit more challenge. So I spawned in a brain blob. Then I spawned in a size 15 group of big blobs, expecting to get 15 blobs. NOPE I GOT 961. AND SO I KILLED THEM ALL SWEET LORD. AND A GOOD AMOUNT OF MY EQUIPMENT WAS DESTROYED. AND I’M SO SLIMED I’M STILL SLIMED TWO DAYS LATER.
I assume that it told you 961 blobs were spawned? not that you counted them?
Flamethrowers are your friiieeends.
By all rights, you get that heavily slimed you should either end up blob food, or start picking up slime category mutations.
Nah, it spawned a group of blobs with a radius of 15. I just took 15+15+1 and squared it and got 961.
I have 62k kills, of that nearly 10k are blob creatures.
Yea, when spawning critters, the (#) that you increase/derease refers to a radius of monsters, centered on the target tile.
XD
I lost two quantum solar panels when zombies teleported into my car >:[
