What's Happening in YOUR Randomly-generated Apocalypse?

Found an artifact that spawns various bee creatures that will valiantly fight for me. It recharges by causing me inordinate amounts of pain, so I’m too weak to even wear armor, but that’s totally fine because going full Naked Wicker Man on the world sounds way cooler than doing anything but that.

I love this game^^^

Meanwhile in my makeshift base in a garage in the middle of the city… I was pushing buttons while trying to craft/sort inventories and accidently pulled the pin on my grenade. took 3 steps to the doorway and threw it down the hall of my house. Unfortunately, the explosion went through the wall and ignited my stash of everything on fire. I vaguely remember dropping 3 gallons of gas and a buttload of ammo into the pile just prior. RIP Wolf Bachman.

Aw man i did that once, i didnt even get 3 steps i got one and then boom…

Spring, day 57.

My alter ego hugged the wall opposite where she knew the mines to be and reached the boxing gym and the subway station this way. However she had to retreat back due to dawn coming.

It’s now 6 am and she needs to eat and drink but it’s raining on her firewood aww :frowning:

I’m getting confidant at slaying zombies

You shout loudly!
You wield your ++ broadsword.

Just made a world with infinite winter, 0 city spacing, and max city size. Let’s go…

My mobile base was heavily damaged by a tank drone. My Ups turrets were no match for it.

I hve never used UPS in actual combat.

How do guns and armor, and apparently you can make your car go too?

The turrets in question are guns that run on ups but once they are turrets they run on vehicle batteries.

Prepare to literally get curbstomped, I assume. o3o

Noes. get a car. Live on a pot farm and sewer.

pedit:

wtf? My lvl 3 tailoring character just struggled in futility to repair and enhance a stupid dust mask.

No, I actually got a nice spawn… Not the thing I hoped for, maybe I’ll turn on hordes.

You should definetly turn on hordes, that sounds like fun.

Corporate insists you get their special brand of “F.U.” fun right. There is meaning behind it! Otherwise there is always FUN¡¡¡

Spring, day 60.

Spent the day looting the eastern town. It turned out to be fairly small and with no threatening Zs. My alter ego found a Redhawk with some ammo in a basement and proceeded to shoot several Zs as a means of training. Currently lugging all the loot to the shelter on the water shore. It’s sufficiently far from the town so that Zs aren’t an issue, and it’s better than the old base because WATER!

After living in a non-mobile luxury rv on a bridge in the middle of nowhere my police detective finally gained the books and tools to install a Shiney new V12 engine. Fucker can really fly now. Also got lucky in a lab, had stairs down into a barracks where I snagged a 50 cal sniper. You would think rounds would be super rare but thanks to military vehicles I have a few hundred already

Busy turning a self propelled howitzer into a mobile fortress of shooting big booms. Only issue is I’m outta 155mm shells and have only 1 120mm shell for the cannon I took off a light tank that I sorta striped for parts. Also you can apparently drive said howitzer with nothing mor than a couple of standard wheels where if this was real life those wheels would pop instantly.

Losing battles to the CRASH monster regularly again…

Is it just me, of is there some kind of limit on how many new tiles it can make, or something? Once I get good and mobile, I start getting random crashes… always when I’ve gone a good distance out into the world exploring without stopping to save and reload. If I just save and reload, I can explore the same area crash-free.

Does anyone else experience this? I don’t remember when I first started getting it, but any survivor I’ve gotten to the “highly mobile” late game stage in at least the last few months has run into this (you’d think I’d have made a habit of stopping and saving by now…)

Re-doing the exploration just really sucks:
-I get better stuff than I got before, so I feel cheaty and save-scummy.
-I get worse stuff than I got before, so I feel cheated.
-I get similarly useless crap, so I feel like I totally bloody wasted a bunch of time.

It’s really annoying - makes me want to play something else. When it happens twice on the same exploration run, then I REALLY don’t want to do it again… sigh.

Well. The eternal quest for level 3 cooking skill continues. And then I need to find a forest to murderize stuff.

There’s also a minitown of 4 houses around an intersection south of the shelter. I’ve always wanted to make a fortress, and that might be ideal. Make walls out of the outer window frames, then wall off the chokepoints and/or secure them with with pits as is practical…

Hold up in a lmoe shelter and now have the tailoring skill to craft some good low encumbering gear, next up quest for rags!
