Considering how I’d design my ice lab now. I posted a pic of my old ice lab base, but I put a lot of work in it’s functionality in terms of crafting, but now I want to take it one step further in aesthetics.
And then spend a century organizing.
Damn straight!
In fact, it’ll be so organized and pretty that it’ll exorcise the clutter satan out of your bod.
Heresy. How else can I boil down MY clutter to a dinky little deathmobile? ;w;
I have…3 cargo spaces, 2 floor trunks, 2 stow boards, 2 doors, a kitchen unit, a welding rig, and a bed to work with. :V
Psh. The purpose of cargo spaces in cars is to be temporary holding until the items are properly placed in real containers, like display racks or counters!
Clearly I should just build a cargo dimension and store all my junk in that. o3o

Blasphemer! May your cargo dimension hit a shrub and cause all your items to scatter on the ground!
At least until that occurs, it will be safe from shoggoths. ;w;
Playing with Dynamic NPCs on for a change.
I got a quest to kill jabberwock. Suddenly the same jabberwock comes at me and the quest guy and she blasts it with a shotgun, killing it in two shots.
Of course, I then told her I had killed the jabberwock and she gave me her shotgun and ammo.
I have a good feeling about this character.
Not sure if this is a bug. The Sluggernaut’s car section has all doors and windshields covered in curtains. Visibility is made through a series of floodlights, reinforced headlights, and cameras. Driving towards a military outpost, straight towards it and no turning. Somehow the turrets aimed for my survivor, and generally would be dead if not for the fact that the reinforced windshields managing to protect the insides so I can shut down the lights and shoot at the turrets.
When I got out, they were still firing at the car.
Seems sensible. I mean, turrets are probably programmed to shoot at things barrelling towards a military base in-universe, otherwise enemies could win by the magic of tinted windows.
True enough, I suppose.
The holy trinity of power armor is complete. Found a hauling frame from the military outpost, completing the set of a normal power armor and helmet I found earlier. Probably won’t use it, but it’s nice to put on display.
Oh, yeah, speaking of which.
I once found a bunch of dead scientists, and two sets of standard power armor just lying in the open with them. Is that just the benevolence of the Random Number Gods?
Yeah. Dead scientists/soldiers/spider basements often have good loot to nab, if RNG is being friendly. Got the helmet from a dead scientist or soldier, can’t remember which.
Another detour towards the ice lab. Perhaps the last because the ice lab is close. A normal lab, and I figure, it’s a new area, no point in wasting human flesh.
Well…fuck. My NPC bugged out after I turned in the prison quest. Since I surpassed all his skills, I initially decided I’ll take some items as payment, then changed my mind and took nothing. And then, wanting to post him as a guard again because by default his quest option wasn’t available when he was a standing NPC, the odds were all at 0%.
Then next time I talked to him, I got debug messages stating how many zombies were dead, and the quest goal number.
So I simply unrecruited him because I didn’t want him to follow me and risk getting killed. At which point he started looting all my shit despite the shelter being a no NPC pickup zone.
Needless to say, the incorruptable blade drank of his blood. And then I got the “complete missions are now failed” bug.
Day 9.
Woke up and went upstairs only to see a bear in the shelter. Oddly, all doors and windows were closed.
Ran out and the bear followed me out, apparently fleeing. I guess the flamethrower-wielding NPC singed it. Since it kept trying to flee and got stuck on some trees, I threw some rocks at it, bringing its health even lower. I’m at full health, do I dare to knock it down?
(Very glad the NPC didn’t keep trying to shoot the bear - I reloaded the game twice due to the f*cker setting the shelter on fire)
On a raid in the city, I’d looted another house and saw a Z soldier guarding the way into the city. On the way back saw that the group of Zs busy smashing a car along the way includes a MASTER, so I noped out of there. The master makes me sad since it’s one maptile from that armored car I had an eye on.
Looted the office tower completely and killed the skeleton.
Guess I’ll loot the second office tower then.
Get an awesome start in the Infected scenario, NPC gives me first aid kit, and there’s a bullwhip, a Marlin 39A, and improved iron sights in the house I spawn in.
Head out onto street with NPC
Assaulted by pretty much every type of special zombie at once.
NPC dies, I flee north with next to no gear in a Beetle that was operational.
Going to die of exposure before too long
See “J” in woods
OH GOD IT’S FASTER THAN THIS PIECE OF SHIT CAR
Approaching summer, it’s starting to get too hot to wear my power armor without running a USP. This is a problem, as every area I push into seems to inevitably contain 2-3 hulks and 5-8 corrosive zombies. I’ll probably burn a lot of the summer processing crops, but I’d like to spend some of it clearing a path to the refugee center.
How quickly does basic power armor burn through the batteries in a USP? Anyone know a cheap and easy source of batteries? Or alternatively, a set of boots that are better at resisting acid than my combat boots?
