And then set your sights on all the fungus.
Now if I had a fireproof dragon mutation category… >_>
When you’re fireproof i use more heat.
Yes burning the mycus always makes me happy.
There is never enough mycus to burn
Clearly we need a pyromaniac trait. :V

When it gets in the river, you have a never-ending supply. :-/
SO ANNOYING.
As to what’s happening in my RGA right now…
I’m doing quite well - lab start, broken cyborg, the worst several broken bionics removed, skills up high enough to do some useful things, raided a school I found for some books, made to winter with sufficient food, there’s an anthill not just terribly far away, and some useful vehicles abandoned in empty stretches of road…
And somehow, I’ve broken the game. It takes FOREVER to load, and then, when I get farther than just a few map squares from where I start, it takes litereally several minutes (of real time) per action.
?!?
The only thing I can think of is that I fairly recently accidentally went up again from the last stairwell, ending up in the sky and eventually falling back down a level, so there’s a little bit of the next z-level up revealed, but I think I saved and loaded a couple of times after that before I ran into the current problem.
No monster spawners of any kind in the reality bubble (that I know of - none even vaguely close on the map).
Any thoughts, anyone?
hows your hard-drive space/ memory especially memory. If you have too much stuff running in the background it will eat up all the memory and your computer will have very little room to work out all the calculation/run scripts. Higher chance of errors from longer scripts too if I am not mistaken. But what do I know, I am not even a level one code monkey yet
Nothing new there. Actually, if anything it should be better - I recently cleaned out my archive of old saves and versions, several hundred MBs worth, and when I first started having this problem, I had nothing else running (and I usually have some other stuff running, and it’s no problem).
Playing with z-levels enabled, maybe? It can be a bit lagtastic depending on circumstance.
Now, back to my adventure, and…the quest for a cathedral. I need a tourist’s map to find them, anyone recall where all those spawn? ;w;

The check-in buildings in front of motels usually have them, and you might also find them behind the counters of liquor stores.
I’d start there.
Ah, right. Only one liquor store in town, and no hotels or motels in town. One pharmacy out of three had a road map, which isn’t the same. ;w;
More town nearby, so I might venture there to look around.

Nah, you won’t find motels in town, they’re usually by the side of the road.
Ah right, I’ll search the map and see if the road map revealed any. Motels, not hotels. o3o
Yes, I’m playing with z-levels enabled… but I’ve been playing like that the whole time, and the save load up in the original lab I started in (still using that as home base until I have the time and effort to fix up a vehicle for loot transport), which means it’s almost entirely cleaned out (basically, shoggoths and a few other observation room odds and ends is all that’s left). So nothing there is new over the regular play I’ve been having until just yesterday.
It’s so very strange.
And I just checked. Road maps don’t reveal motels. ;w;
Just walk along the road for a while.
They usually spawn between towns, rather than at the end of a road like a lab or bunker would.
Right. Most of the nearest signs of a town are fairly close by, but I might give it a try.
Failing that, the other towns could have more liquor stores. Or I might get lucky and find a cathedral straight away.
EDIT: Wow. Seemingly intact security van parked outside this jewelry store, with 30% diesel and battery. I’ll need the metal for crafting magic items eventually anyway, so I might have my new ride.
EDIT 2: Oh god, shocker brute. Fighter powers, activate! o3o
EDIT 3: Holy shit. How did I not take damage from getting backhanded into a wrecked car? I can only assume that spending some Stats-Through-Skill cheese points on Parkour Expert saved my ass, via saving me from landing on my ass.

Just to document more about what I found:
It’s clearly something location-specific, and if I walk away in the correct direction (not east, in this case), I can come back, and walk through the problematic areas with no problems, but if I go back into the lab (not sure exactly where the trigger point is), then come back out again, that area becomes problematic again. So clearly, it’s also “problem thing loaded into memory” specific, as well.
Once I leave the area entirely, no more problems at all (haven’t been back yet to see if it returns). In the long run, I’m planning to abandon this area, anyway, so it’s not too terrible, just very VERY strange.
Edit: And yes, when I come back to the area, those same map squares still have the problem, and yes, it changes EXACTLY on map square lines.
Ooh. Shocker brute, butchered for a fusion blaster CBM.
Do I want to lop off an arm and become Megaman? o3o
