You don’t like smoky the bear? o3o
Notice the signs. Notice where there’s a lot more bare dirt.
There’s a minefield almost right outside the door.
Wow. And now it’s official, your Cataclysm must’ve started on a monday. XP
Yep. Definitely a Monday.
(Though granted, that’s a good thing - any time there’s a basement with zombies in it, usually means the basement is absolutely loaded with gear!)
Watch the loot be nothing but useless clothes.
Meanwhile, Boris (I retired the last bandit after a successful day of triffid-slaying) has brought back a bounty of supplies from the nearby mansion, as well as a shitton of books, to the friendly neighborhood bandit camp. I need a better funnel though, as we lack a reliable source of water. Might also see about hitting up that military bunker I saw near the mansion, but if only I had an acetylene torch…
There were a lot of zombies in that basement. 5 zeds total including a Fat Zombie and a Zombie Cop. The loot was alright. Plenty of water, though I’m a bit sad that I couldn’t find a backpack - had to make a bindle to carry enough supplies to last me a while.
That said, I’ve got plenty food and water, vitamins, and a bunch of firestarting devices, so I should be able to rough it in the wild if necessary. First stop is gonna be the sewage treatment plant - which is maybe an odd choice of place to visit first, but it can have some handy stuff in it!
Excellent. Now I’m still wish I had a proper funnel, and some vitamins…
Awesome, hitting up the sewage treatment plant was a good idea - there’s a working flatbed truck here with a small amount of batteries and fuel left in it, and there’s a toolbox in the plant itself which, while rather hefty, should basically help me with most every mechanics-related activity I might want to partake in!
I -could- just disassemble it and take the wrench and hacksaw from it, though. I’m not sure what would be best here - but it seems like keeping it all together would be handier.
I find a toolbox easiest IF I can get a shopping cart to drag it and other tools in.
Deciding to stay in the Evac shelter for my first night was a good idea.
Forgetting to butcher the corpses of the zombies down in the basement was a bad oversight. However, I’m still alive, so that’s a thing. It’s now Tuesday, and I’ve managed to get a small amount of fuel into my flatbed truck. I need to find a better storage container, though.
So at the bottom of this LAB. Which has very few CBM’s (which I’m okay with), as I went in here for the serum notes… had 39 mininukes.
I’ve been having a very hard time getting much from labs about half the time recently.
Since the z-level update in the experimental (which is definitely a good thing, mind you), if the loot-box is not sealed, the secubots destroy all the loot by suiciding on the dissectors and exploding (and the explosion changes in experimental are still all weird).
It’s very frustrating. Unless you’re just REALLY lucky in how fast you manage to get down there, it’s just gone. :-/

I’m in .C I have this thing about playing experimental builds of games that change more than 1-2 times every month.
I also don’t know how a lab is ‘supposed’ to end. I just clear it. I was actually looking for a UPS CBM if I could get one. I just got down there and was 4 disectors and lots of mininukes.
Likewise, I’m still on 0.C. I always wait to play the experimental builds until at the very least a feature freeze has been announced. I prefer to wait until there’s been a Content Freeze as well, but the Feature Freeze is the big one - for the most part it’s sort of a peace of mind thing.
Speaking of Cata though, I’m hopping back into Crovie now. The nearest town is still swarming with zombies but I need to fuel my flatbed truck, so I should probably take consideration to clearing out as much of the west side of the city as I can.
And miss out on all the fun bugs? And bugfixes? Madness. ;A;
Plus at the very least (to give a positive example that I DIDN’T add), I’m very certain that Boatmod is still fucked in 0.C.
I don’t use Boatmod, so I’m good with Stable! As far as I’m concerned the water wants me dead, whether I’m in it or it’s in me (although in the case of the latter water purification tablets or a good old fashioned boiling usually does the trick)
Once they fixed the “boats vanishing on load” issue I discovered (the hard way, repeatedly), it should be fun. Or !!FUN!! I guess.
You’re also missing out on the taaaaanks. <3
The Boatmod Crash Happened as far back as the “Brin” release (0.B)
Which I May Of Been One Of The Very First People Who Encountered it… By Mistake Of Course…
Surprisingly not crashing in the 0.A Version Of The Game…
The one from pushing grounded boats? I swear, no one reports these things soon enough. o3o
Yes, The One When Pushing Grounded Boats. At The Time, I was finishing an older save on the 0.B When 0.C Was Quite New & Recent. So, I Thought it was patched in 0.C Which I Didn’t report it…
