Step outside the shelter, see a Mi-Go. Oh dear… I back into the shelter, and let my NPC friend save us both with his shotgun. Yay!
However… I started out near a horde. They HAVE to have heard that… Not good. I start running, but end up in Fungal lands… I skirt the edges of the horde as I head north, away from the fungal bloom. Unfortunately, I find myself wedged between a river and swamplands. With the horde oncoming, I brave the swamps.
After several narrow escapes, and distant sighting of terrible monsters, including MULTIPLE T-rexs, I find the other side of the swamps. Its utter chaos. The local wildlife has gone insane, with literally dozen of predators slaughtering countless prey (especially lemmings). I pick my route carefully, and manage to make my way through the battlefield without attracting undue attention.
Heading southwards now, I find a ranch. There’s plenty of water, but not much food. I find large numbers of Giant Ants further south. I speculate an any hill lies beyond. For now though, they will serve as food.
I survive for several more days, trying to build up supplies. However, it seems somewhere along the line I got a small cut on one of the Ranch’s fences, and now I have tetanus. There’s a town nearby… perhaps I can find some antibiotics there. I spend several days clearing the edges nearest to me. I’ve got some decent clothing, and a knife spear, so as long as I am careful, I should be ok. I go into a basement to see if its filled with drugs. I see a survivor zombie. Hmm. Dangerous, but I can take it. I wait for it to close, then engage. It grabs me solidly, so I keep hacking at it, but… wait, there’s more of them. With the first one grabbing me, I cannot flee. I down several, but eventually, I succumb to the half dozen elite zombies. Thus ends the tale of John Smith, 5th of his name.
