Well, sure. It’ll be an easy fight if I go with the pneumatic, in any case. At the rifles skill level my character has, it’s possible to one shot predators, toughs, grapplers, big boomers, screamers. Sometimes normal brutes. Shockers, masters and soldiers need a few extra shots, and hulks go down in an 11 round burst.

Starting things off. Moved back to a nearby FEMA camp to have some cover at the very least.

Checking, if the zombies are close enough, I can manage around 4-6 kills per burst. From an offscreen range.

Also, having a ring that can see through everything is super helpful for most part. It becomes really useless if there are zombies that are blocked out by trees.

After a hulk punched me while reloading, I gave him some return fire.

It’s not a one-shot kill, but the hulk is dead all the same with one burst.

The horde seems to have fizzled out as night fell. You can’t see it due to the ring that sees everything being worn, but cranial flashlight is activated to lure the zombies in like a deranged trigger happy anglerfish.

And rifles has gone up to level 21.

On the bright side, nearly half of them are corrosive zombies, so no need to butcher them.

Started on latest experimental with a straight 8s to see how high my stats can go.
Hit the motherload with LMOE and a farm next to it.
While searching the LMOE did found a LeMat revolver.

See, I always end up playing as the most heroic Mutant Marshal possible. Running around clearing out dungeons, destroying dangerous groups of monsters, sealing away ancient evils and the like, along with recruiting every NPC I can and bringing them back to a safe zone.

Playing as a deranged katana wielding psychopath is a welcome change of pace. Schizophrenic also helps to keep things interesting during night raids.

Azrad, do you have the most recent tileset? Did I screw up adding corrosive zombies? I swear I made a tile for 'em.

Edit: I did screw it up, I made 'em mon_zombie_caustic instead of mon_zombie_corrosive. I thought I fixed that before I released, but I guess not.

I’m gonna PR this updated ChestHole32 tileset anyways. I’ll try and make sure you never have to fight the letter Z again.

Niten Ichi-Ryu, but katana, plus 14/12/14/12 stats, plus melee skill of 4-6, and I generally kill hunks in close combat before they get to swing once… Haven’t one-shotted one yet, but I’m getting close (at melee 7 now - broke 300 on a crit recently).

and I don’t run out of ammo. Heh.

Right now my stylish spiritual optimist cannibal almost elf is enjoying life in the cataclysm. Human bone broth, smoked suckers, and a UPS bionic powered mp3 player is just running around feeling happy all the time. And since I got an ice lab for food storage, I can choose all sorts of cannibal cuisine.

Still, I’m not murdering everyone in sight at the moment. Storing a lot of human meat from hospitals and ice labs, and has 10 friendly NPCs guarding the ice lab area. Won’t be killing them unless desperate… or if I feel like it.

Almost at level 23 on rifles. Once I go back to base, it’ll be time to try out other weapons at this point.
